@@ellitestar she was too old by then at 40yrs of age in 1978. Besides she wasn't a singer though Natalie certainly is a Hollywood icon. Natalie was PERFECT as Maria is west side story!!!

The simple fact is that teenagers could never have pulled this off. This cast was perfect!

When filming started in 1977 Olivia Newton-John was 28 years old and John Travolta was 23. I will say there were certain scenes in this movie where they made her look like she was 10 years younger.

It’s hilarious how, at the bonfire, he goes from drooling to playing all nonchalant at the drop of a hat. 😂 The smile on his face rapidly vanishing after he gives Sandy his ring and her thanking him for respecting her was great too.

Everything went right for this movie, the right actors, the perfect songs, great talent and on top of it all the planets lined up perfectly!

Little did Frenchie know that in 40 years her hair dye mishap would be all the rage.

In Australia, she was our diamond girl, beautiful, uncommonly kind, modest and an amazing person loved by many Australians and across the world. RIP my lady Olivia Newton John, goodbye to Sandra Dee.

ONJ always seem to make singing and acting look effortless.....what an amazing talent.

John Travolta and Olivia Newton John played a couple of teenagers the greatest. They both were perfect playing the parts in the movie Grease. The rest of the cast was great also. That was such a great 1950's movie and well done 👍. It's still sad that Olivia Newton John has passed away. She will never be forgotten. Always remember Olivia Newton John. Thanks 👍.

Flash forward to Euphoria and we still got full grown adults playing high schoolers.
