I'm starting to feel very demotivated 😔 I have very short time (1 month), I'm a non native speaker, the test costs almost 40% of my monthly payment. In any case, I really appreciate what both of these gentlemen shared in this video. Thank you for sharing this.

Does the proctor need to be able to see your whiteboard throughout the exam or only at the end when you wipe it off?

1) Is there a specific dimension limit on the white board that's is required to be used during the test 2) how does the calculator feature work during the test- like normal GRE or is there a difference

How far in advance do I need to sign up on ETS for an at-home test? Also, the test is now able to be taken on a mac without downloading windows.... but when I go to download the ETS test browser on my mac, it says that the file cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.... any suggestions? Does the "at home test" label on the GRE certificate hamper with the authenticity while application for universities

can someone confirm whether it's possible to take it on a mac??? (it still says on the ETS website that a windows is needed, but maybe has someone tried on a mac?)

Yeah, I had to erase after each question but that only takes a couple seconds. My nerves cost me way more time than erasing

Hi, that was an informative video! Can I take the GRE At Home test in my bed room, basically a small one with a cupboard and a cot in it?

Is it okay if I use my laptop built in camera to show my room to Proctor by holding laptop rotating horizontally?

At first I will go to ProctorU page and click "Connect" as the timer hits 0.00 right?But my test will be taken via that, or via the ETS Test browser that I have separately installed? How will I be redirected to that browser, will it be from ProctorU itself? I am unclear on it.

@@sirieshapatnaik8340 update: proctorU is of course saying that their team will help in case of technical issues, no time would be wasted if theres a network drop. Also, i called up ETS and confirmed there is no minimum or maximum size requirement for the whiteboard.

I wasn't allowed to take my GRE test yesterday because my built in laptop webcam quality was too poor... Make sure you check your camera's resolution before test day...

It's very unstable, I had 12 mbps download and 6 mbps upload but I still disconnected during the test for no reason, I recommend writing with stable net like wifi.

Does the room have to be empty? My office has hundreds of books in it. Would I have to take them all out? What is a white board? Like the big ones they have on a wall?

I would remove the books =/ From ETS: "The tabletop and surrounding area must be clear of all items not approved for use during the test, including cell phones (except when used for check in), cameras, notes and study materials. The furniture and décor in the room do not need to be removed."

Since we are taking it at home, are we allowed to read questions out loud? Or do we have to be quiet during the entire exam?

I've asked Proctor U this question, the response was "If you lose internet connection momentarily, once it is back up you will automatically be reconnected to the proctor. If your exam closes, your proctor will reopen it for you. If you lose connection for more than 5 minutes and are not reconnected, you will need to manually reconnect by contacting our LiveChat services in the lower right of your ProctorU account to speak with a representative or here"

I am stuck. Can someone please advise me. I have no surname in my national ID card and in my documents but in my passport, my father's name is written as my surname or last name. Is it going to be an issue. I waiting for this to solve so that I can register and take GRE. I would appreciate your help. Should I reissue my passport which is expired and correct the name?

Hey Mate, well it does happen to alot of people! First of all, I hope that you have no given surname other than the one that is innate i.e your father's name is considered as your surname. It is perfectly alright even if you don't have your father's name in the national ID (aadhar I assme). Though, the Id will still mention the first letter of the parent at the end of your name ( It is understood that it is an acronym for the expansion). The name that is printed in the passport is all that matters when you apply for tests and applications for admission into universities. Even if you apply for reissue of the passport, it does mention the father's name under the surname section. PS: It is of utmost important to keep your passport in active state and they won't allow you sit for a test if it passed the expiration date. DO RENEW ASAP! And, all the very best!!!

Mohadese Mhd Correct. The proctor has to enter the exam ID just before the exam. You will not be able to see them, but they will be able to see you.

It seems that ETS is a bit flexible about what you use to take notes. Their exact wording is, "Make sure you have acceptable note taking materials, such as a whiteboard or plastic transparency sheet, that can be erased in view of the proctor." I just reached out to ETS and ProctorU to ask. I'll let you know what I learn!
