Watched him from 2003 until he retired. His greatest moment, in my opinion, was moving from Honda to Yamaha and winning back to back. What a legend. The greatest I have ever seen. I miss the old days of MotoGP

Same feelings and experience I have about Rossi. Miss the good old days of Motogp
Valentino single handedly put motogp on the map and that's a fact. The sport would have never gained the popularity that it has today if it wasn't for his eccentric personality, intense rivalries and insane celebrations (apart from his pure speed of course). Someone someday (maybe marquez) could break his records, but the fact is people don't adore Vale for just his records, they adore him because he made it fun, he made it a show, he made it entertainment of the highest quality. It's not the same without him. He will be missed. Grazie Vale.

You know, it wasn't once in a lifetime. In 2007 he did the exact same overtake to Stoner. But not in last lap, there were 3 laps to go (if I remember well). Then later on Stoner overtook Valentino and won the race. That was a fantastic race too.

i still have the dent in my ceiling, the battle with Jorge last 2 laps leading up to the final corner i will never ever forget, i remember the shot of Rossi's pit crew going completely mental and the Yamaha pit girls looking at them with a puzzled look on their faces - just like my misses was at me
@muhammadtaufiqhussain5193
2 жыл бұрын
@@andreaiachini7517 yes I remember it. And if you look more closely you will see that Stoner blocked the inside line in the last lap on the last corner by leaning towards the corner much earlier than usual. Because he knew that Rossi could make a move in the last corner just like he did two laps before and made it stick. So stoner worked smartly otherwise we might have seen the move of 2009 in 2007 😍 And I think Lorenzo was unaware of this move of 2007 somehow, that's why he didn’t block the inside line and Rossi himself didn’t make the move up untill last corner on the last lap in 2009 thinking about what he had done against stoner in 2007
2015 was insane, literally every pass was cheered all season. Didnt win in the end, but the cooldown lap of the final race says who the true champion was.

Throughout his career, i think Rossi is more or less as aggressive as Marquez on the track, but much cleaner. His cornering looks so stable in spite of how late he brakes (he is one of the greatest demons on the brake). His overtakes also look so beautiful, particularly his knee movement when he overtook Lorenzo in Catalunya 2009.
@ibnuabas2174
Жыл бұрын
his ride was probably cleaner because he had literally a MotoGP GOAT bike (RC211V) and the smoothest bike (Yamaha). but his overtaking was anything but. those maneuver against Stoner in 08 and Lorenzo in 09 was not clean at all and borderline too aggressive.

@@ibnuabas2174 Well, i do agree that his corkscrew 08 move was very aggressive of him; but he rides that aggressively only once in several years. Generally he was very clean. Meanwhile i don't think his Catalunya 09 was borderline aggressive as you said. For me it just very tight battle with very narrow space for Vale to entry to overtake which is successful without any direct contact with Lorenzo at all.
@ibnuabas2174
Жыл бұрын
@@kresnokenoz Jerez 2005? in 09 he clearly barged/forced Lorenzo wide with his overtaking. let's also not forget in 2010 when Lorenzo was chasing his first WC Rossi was over the limit battling Lorenzo to the point that even Yamaha chastised him.
There will never be another VALENTINO ROSSI. His name alone says it all.
I will never forget that last corner of montmelo against Lorenzo. That manouver took me by surprise so much I started shouting and jumping. I was 12 by then and it's still one of my favourite moments. Salute the master, salute the doctor, salute the all time great Valentino Rossi. Grazie per tutti.
"In the world of motorsports, hundreds of riders will come and go. Many don't get to the top, not because they are any different than the others but because there was a few among them who had that little bit extra, "something special" some say. Pure talent, hard work, unrivaled charisma, sheer will to win, whatever it is. All the riders have it, but there's always one who stands out from the rest, very few go on to become legends, who leads decades of fans behind their back, win numerous grand prix's and of course become multiple World champion. Everyone from every decade has their hero and rightly so, as they are all the very best in what they do. But in the generations to come, there will be a name that won't be locked away silent in the vault of the hall of fame, but a name that will buzz around the paddock for many years to come, will drift within the fastest of corners, roar in the cheers of millions all over the world and ultimately fly high in a never fading cloud of yellow smoke and when that kid asks what it is, I'm sure his father will say that he is the greatest motorcycle rider ever to grace this earth, His personality infected all those who followed him, He was the king of kings, faster than the fastest, none were like him, and will never be, His name ....... was Valentino Rossi.

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and Lord of Lords. And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small.” Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.” Revelation 19:11-21 NIV

There are so many great racers. I'm not a fan of Marquez but he certainly is an elite racer. With all the talented and skilled racer, I think nobody will be as referred as Rossi. Is truly is a GOAT.
I'm so glad i grew up watching every race in the Rossi period, legendary times sitting on the edge off the sofa.
25 years of racing that I have followed and many rivals have been strong. Biaggi, Capirossi and Gibernau should never be neglected without Rossi they would have won much more in that era.Lorenzo,Pedrosa, Stoner and Marquez a higher level but Rossi fought with all of them knowing how to rider in different ways

Totally agree. Rossi relegated them to also rans. I really like Sete Give-it-up-now but Rossi really had his number. All his numbers, drivers license number, credit card numbers, on and on! Max was a hot head and I enjoyed watching Mad Max lose. It was good seeing Nicky Hayden in there. He had some good years but should never have gone to Ducati. Those bikes were the kiss of death for everyone except for Casey Stoner. Those Aussie's can ride!
