You can buy a palette which will keep acrylics moist or you can DIY one yourself. I've used a folded sheet of wax paper as a palette with a moistened paper towel underneath--open acrylics stay moist for hours. I suppose you could just squeeze the acrylic paint onto some moistened paper towels and then use them as needed. There are also retarding additives on the market.

Thanks for this great tutorial. A lot of Information. So far I painted only in acrylics. Do you use a Palette knife for mixing colors in acrylics or with acrylics a brush?

For acrylics I use my brush. If you pre-mix acrylics, the pile you mixed will most likely be dry before you can use it.

What sizes are the brushes you use? Finding ordering brushes online to be challenging without seeing the sizes. thank you so much!

I use a variety of brushes honestly. I usually pick up packs of them from Hobby Lobby, Masters Touch brand I believe, when they are on sale. I have recently fallen in love with the Princeton Aspen series brushes though. They are a bit pricey compared to the normal "in a pack" brushes I usually purchase.
