They made Wendy handle this really, really well -- from small things like saying "I'm too old for you" rather than the more-demeaning-even-though-technically-identical "You're too young for me", to things like how afterwards she invites him to keep doing their routine movie-watching. And the show even explains of why she handles it so well -- because of how she already knew, she also had enough time to think of how she'll let him down gently.

I mean that younger kids, shoot for the range 9 and under, most likely won't get most of the jokes in the show. There are plenty of jokes aimed at adults rather than kids. I'm not saying it isn't aimed towards kids, but most of the people who watch it are around 11 and 12+, it aims more so to 'tweens'

This episode really makes me like Wendy, a lot more than i did in season one, and ended the DipperxWendy thing in the maturest way possible, something I really wish would happen in a few "other shows" (looking at you Adventure Time) gets a A+ from me, though only ranks number 4, of my favorite 5 episodes of this season funnily enough.

I think it funny, when I was reading some things on gravity falls, that in this ep, when Wendy and Dipper were in that decontamination room, the original storyboard before the change, had him press to her chest and they both back off, instead of the bounce off we see here, lol.

You know, a shape-shifter could be a possible thing in nature. We have animals that can change color to hide from predators, and animals able to mimic they're predators to confuse them. So this maybe a new step for some alien planet, able to mimic any organisim in order to survive or confuse prey. This could also lead to the creature its self evolving into an intelligent species without it being hunted down by predators.

Everyone is saying that dipper and Wendy's ages aren't that far apart so they should date. I don't think that's the main reason they don't date. If they did date do you know how awkward it would be for everyone else? Plus it would be awkward since they have been friends for so long and it's a one way crush, just saying.

I don't see why either of those things would be issues. Why would it be awkward for others if they dated (aside from the age gap)? Nor is being friends first necessarily a barrier to a relationship (and they haven't even known each other that long at this point, anyway). Its mainly the age thing, which really does matter when you're that young. If they were older, I suppose it would depend on whether Wendy's disinterest is due only to the age gap, or other issues as well, and we never get an answer to that.

This show is a PG12 show, meaning that it’s targeted to kids but it covers topics that older kids would appeal to but still keeping appropriate unlike rick and morty. But season 1 was mainly targeted to younger children, so when they got older they would still watch the show since they grew up. It’s like when a show matures itself, after many years so the average 5 year old audience would soon be 12 and stop watching the show. So if they matured the show but still kept it funny and childish everyone is happy. Smart tactics, might use it on my show if CN will accept it. So this season was a tactic where After season 1 finished and all of the season 1 fanbase grows up, they will mature the show so the audience stays, but new young children came so they made it more less-mature by adding silly jokes, fart jokes and jokes.

But they're so young that it really matters. When she's a senior in high school, he'd be a freshman. It would be super weird and very illegal for a college kid to be dating a sophomore in high school. When you're both under 18, even three years is too much.

yeah, but I think that the definitions match up. Bill is often shown to be able to predict the future, invade minds, and be many places at once. If he was meant to be the "All seeing eye", this would make sense. The God part can be ignored in this context for obvious reasons. I think it makes sense.
