You forget that the Ukraine conflict is of more strategic importance to Europe than to the US. There is of course enlightened self-interest in the actions of the americans. Their long term goal is to get Putin to act rashly and get bogged down so that the 22 largest republics within Russia can rebel and declare their independence, just as the 15 republics of the western border of the USSR did in 1989-1991 when the USSR was in terminal decline and could not muster the military power to stop them from self-declaring their independence. Ukraine was the biggest of such nations. This will be the greatest foreign policy coup that Biden is looking for and hoping to use to get re-elected in 3 years time. The Europeans will go along with it as a long term agenda of their military arm, NATO. Ultimately, the US and Europe want to confront only one military power, China. The long term plan is also the breakup of China as the domestic landscape of China looks eerily similar to that of Russia. Both China and Russia are only densely populated in their southern areas. Both China and Russia suffer from disparate assortment of ethnicities and religious groupings that are boiling to liberate themselves in the 21st century. That is essentially the long term global agenda. The Ukraine conflict was inevitable, and is just a little cog in the wheel that is turning inexorably towards a new world order in the not-too-distant future.

I always said this , never confuse Facts with Reality. Right from the beginning, I said Ukraine is making the same mistake Georgia did , luckily for Georgia , they surrendered as soon as possible. It took so long for Ukraine to take a U turn. Now Russia is going on a full invasion. Initially the past Ukrainian president looked stupid by not pushing For Nato alliance but now he seems he had a good reason. Ukrain thought they had leverage. Zalensky never had the leverage right from the start, Nato or the world is not ready for war, with Russia

So they are gambling away military resources and money backing the brave but not ready for WWIII Ukraine believing that they can outlast Russia short term. Do they want Putin to get serious, fully mobilize and move against NATO itself?. I guess that they do not think that the Russian tanks can break into Berlin twice in a century, right?.

Trying to join NATO only make your country Ukraine a target which is happening now. Russia do not want NATO on his backyard. The same can be said to the U.S not wanting the presence of the Soviets in Cuba in 1962.

As someone coming from the war in Bosnia, people gravely underestimated the severity of war crimes, including Zelenskyy. I'm surprised the world is so shocked and uneducated, as if they expected war antagonists to play by the rules. This is exactly what happens when a country denies your sovereignty and your culture. But the Western World is finally paying attention to what war actually looks like and they'll eventually stop keeping track of the crimes. Even though Ukraine is not to blame for this situation, Zelenskyy is far too optimistic and doesn't realize he'll have to make a compromise to spare his citizens from suffering. Because it can become a hell of a lot worse.

We were in a much worse position than Ukraine, but we never take sides, we do not join any military alliance, and we are friends with everyone. We do business with US and S.Korea, but we are friendly with North Korea. Our biggest partner is China, but Taiwan company is free to do business in Vietnam. Our army would be crushed if China and US want to invade us again, but they just never had a strong enough reason to start a war. But Ukraine and Russia are like brothers, why ZLSky is so obsessed with going toe to toe with Russia. Why can you walk the line as we do? Just being neutral, and utilizing the influent from both sides to your benefit. Human life is the most important. The Ukraine relinquished its nuclear weapons at the behest of the Western countries, who pledged, I understand, to defend Ukraine if it was ever attacked. Never predicate your own safety on the good intentions of others. The West really only used Ukraine to provoke Russia by offering NATO membership, then left them dangling.

It was really complicated when Ukraine was making decision about nuclear weapons. Ukraine was threatened to be given sanctions for keeping it. Also,Ukraine had some economical problems, so they had no money to keep them (you have to spend some money to service nuclear weapons ). This decision was made to get financial help from USA (after that USA gave money) and to get rid of the weight on the shoulders, but I still can agree I wasn't the best decision and Ukraine should have invested some money in defense.

Have you noticed Zelensky doesn't aknoledge what other countries are doing? He keeps saying Ukraine is doing everything without help. That is beyond easy to disprove. Also, had WIOH did a little research, they would have found that it wasn't just Zelensky talking in 2021. The US told them to fix the corruption in their country if they wanted to be a part of NATO. Ukraine chose corruption and ultimately, this war, over the safety of its people. He also lied when he said Ukraine's nukes were removed. Those belonged to the USSR, and only Russia had the codes. Ukraine could not have used them, but Putin could have, and Ukraine is lucky they are out of their country. Now the war is here, and they say no one is helping them defend Europe. That is a slap in the face to everyone paying a price to help them. Even then, I would help them, but I wouldn't believe everything that they say. Much of it is easy to disprove. This news report only plays off of the hype.

@@vtheman1850 Your comment makes no sense lol🤣 First part you must be referring to Putin🤔 Second part about support for joining NATO being 30% against it. Well that 30% must be made up of the Donbas region and those who are Pro Russian separatists!. You seem to forget that you have to request to join NATO and that Ukraine has already asked and been refused once already. The Fact that the Ukrainian people are united and standing firm against Russian aggression and fighting so valiantly, is because they value their freedom, sovereignty and the right to be a democracy. Their president is standing with them in their struggle, even at the risk of assassination. He was offered to be taken to another country for his own safety but he refused and stayed. Could you see Putin doing the same?. Putin is hiding away in his retreat, protected by bodyguards🤣

Overestimating western support is what every US allies does and pays for. Also, Zelensky reminds me of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in 1971.
