Eight independent women candidates were elected showing Australia's dissatisfaction with both major parties. They stood on a women in power policy winning women's popular vote. The Lib/Nat Party assured Albanese that they would not block supply and would allow Albanese and the Labour Party to form a government. Pretty good when the opposition votes you into power! Like the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, it's the same players, only changing where they sit.

I think a lot of people voted for 3rd parties in that election wanting change, like Palmers party. And then they just handed their preference votes straight to the guys people were sick of in power, and wanted change from. 2 party system is not hard to work out. If you don't like one party vote the other party in. It's even more important in Australia with the way preference votes work. Until we adopt a more central style government like the Nordic countries (democratic socialism) we're stuck with a 2 party system. It was pretty impressive how many independents got in this election though

Personally I think he's a c**t but ultimately we vote for parties not personalities so it doesn't really matter. How many times has a sitting PM been knifed in the back by their own party in the last 2 decades? A LOT.
