I scored 147.2 marks out of 200 in SSC CGL and din'd get selected because cutoff for unreserved category was 150 while for sc candidate it was only 126. Now i have so much hate for reservation and i started disliking reserved cartegory thanks to the indian constitution and politicians of the country.

Someone had to say this loud and clear, thanks WION for bringing this out.

People had hope with BJP but they also succumbed to this reservation drama. The only way in which parties like BJP who traditionally have been against this reservation can revoke it is when they get the security to retain the power otherwise why any political party would commit suicide. The prolblem is not those who will lose the reservation but those woke kids as well who think that BJP is continuing its legacy of the so-called BRAHMINICAL PATRIARCHY. SC, ST are some of the biggest supporters of BJP you might not see them on social media but numbers speak for themselves. The only way to overcome this is to replace the system with income-based reservation...to start with. If any political party do this....they should get immunity from the 1 term election to cool things down and aware the citizens of India.

Well you can not completely remove reservation but at least government can reduced % of reservation quota of each caste.Reservation should be given by seeing state development.Why state like Maharashtra,TN, Karnataka,Kerala needs reservation?States like Bihar,UP still needs reservation to breach gap between poor and rich. It is irony that our country is secular for religion practice but not secular when it comes to its education system.Our education system makes castism alive which eventually led to riots. Even If we become 5 trillion economy by 2027,I will not call my country developed (or even developing)because they are not treating their own people equal.

I have friends across all categories, I never use to judge people on the basis of their caste, but recently I have noticed, I always make sure to read surname of a doctor before visiting him. Thank you reservation to keep the caste based judgement still alive in our minds.

Imagine this... An ex-classmate of mine, apparently ST certificate holder, was able to secure a seat in my college(VJTI) with 56% while the cutoff was 99.2%. His sister entered IIM - A with 76% (percentile). Lol. And their father is/was a chief editor at TOI. Dude was loaded. Are they economically challenged? No Were their parent making more than ours already? Yes. Did they deserve the seat? No. This whole quota system is so flawed, its just beyond words now.

In my opinion, the core of the problem is the lack of good colleges and universities, even if you get rid of reservation the competition is still going to be cut throat, We should focus on building more infrastructure first, after that the reason for reservation itself will dwindle and people won't protest if you remove reservation, if you end reservation now, people and mostly poorp people are gonna protest

Equality should be based on the current situation, long gone those days of casteism. As, she said caste is a permanent attribute how long you gonna continue this reservation?. There should be open competition and only reservations should be made for first graduates and financially backward candidates.

Reservation was never given on the basis of financial stability , it was given on the basis of social status Let's suppose a dalit boy and a brahmin girl wants to marry ,both the families have same financial condition ,let's say the boy is little bit more rich . Will they be able to marry .....? answer is "A big NO" WHY .? where is the logic that both are same if they have same financial condition...? Are they not equal...? Secondly reservation only gets you into the college ,after that if a high caste and a low caste student graduates both are doctor of equal capabilities because both have passed all the exam required to be a doctor. Let's suppose a society having no reservations in any govt sector be it colleges, jobs , or promotion will the lower caste be allowed to study in premium institutions.......? Ideally yes they should be allowed but actual reality is not so simple . My answer to the whole BIG QUESTION is reservation will remain until there is caste system And we are discussing about reservation only not about the root cause "THE EPIC LEGENDARY CASTE SYSTEM" .The whole topic is wrong that's why it is only a topic to be discussed not of a practical use . All throughout my school life I never bothered to think to which caste my batchmates belong to. To me all of them were my friends, all of them were Indians. Fast forward to me attempting entrance exams, not securing any government seat but my friends who scored way lower than me got in. It baffled me, it just didn't make any sense. The caste I never discriminated against suddenly got planted in my head as the 'students who got in with reservation, they killed my merit'. It has created unnecessary hate in my mind for them. And that is... India's reservation policy for you. Reservation divides you more. Period.

I had 9463 rank in IIT advance 2015, couldn't make into an IIT, but my SC friend with 13k rank got admission in IIT Guwahati, an obc friend whose CRL was 7.5k but category rank was 1.4k and he got into IIT Bombay. There are millions like you and me now. But it's ok. This shouldn't be an excuse, if there's one seat, someone unreserved is going to qualify for it, and it's our duty to try and become that one ! 🙏💯

Greatest achievement in India is, LEAVING INDIA & SETTLING ABROAD.

In my college, I'm paying 40,000+ fees and the same fees for them is 3,500 and they are using luxurious cars and living lavish lifestyle as compared to mine & btw 80% of them is paying 3,500 and we who are paying more than 10× fees have to sit with them. Even my scores are better than them. This is true India.

if you look at the data from SECC (socioeconomic caste census), the poverty among SCs is 33.3% ST is 50.6% and generals is 15.6%, most of the sc and st who didnt fall under poverty line were barely above, what you are going through is sad but sadly most sc and st are not rich

Exceptions don't make the rules, if you know a couple of people from the reserved category who are rich, doesnt mean that most are rich or well off. Poverty is still more prevalent in reserved class.

Let me say this I'm a general category person . Majority of my relatives have left India and gone to Canada US or UK or Australia( all are Gen.).And remaining few relatives are planning to do the same (again all Gen.).My friends who are general are also planning the same .All my loved ones are leaving this country .This reservation thing being one of the reasons . I will call this pure discrimination An ST whose parents income is 90K monthly and a general whose parents earn is 20k monthly .The general student could not get a medical seat in government college but The ST who was more than 300 ranks behind got the government medical seat in state qouta(Based on a real story) .That day the general student cried like hell .I knew both of them. Now people judge where is India going where... well I've an answer ....gravitational force

My father used to work in government job around 20-25 years back and he is general category and experienced a lot of discrimination, not just with recruitments, but also in promotions and growth opportunities so he resigned from government job and works in corporate job now, he dosen't regret resigning one bit

Do you have any data what percentage of under privileged ST,SC,OBC,MOBC are lucky enough to study in IIT, Go to an IIT college and count , Now even general cast are getting 10% reservation as EWS .. you will not talk about remove castism and untouchability in northern India, but you have problems with reservation. How lower cast people are treated by upper cast . You will never know that because you are also upper cast. Still today Upper cast parents will not give their daughter in marriage to a lower cast, or never let their son marry a lower cast woman. Shivi Jain u have to understand in those era people from FC were only made to study medicine and other high professional courses. Also people from the upper middle class in urban can afford high class trainings from coaching centers and can afford higher education. So the main agenda of reservations is to provide equal opportunities to all the communities from all the nuke and corners of the country. So, even when u apply for any courses u going to compete with the candidates from the communities in your category and not from others.

Reservation is one of the key factor that starts creating hate for SC, ST category. If a guy with 1000 rank doesn't get admission and a sc/st category student get admission in same college for 10k rank. This morally hurts that students and sometime a it develops sense of hate towards those category students . 😊

Sc/St category students with 12000-13000 rank were able to get admission in the same course. I was better than those students still I was not able to get admission. This incident triggered a sense of hate for sc/st category .

You can do privatisation of govt jobs ..but what about govt colleges ?what about the reservation there ?the iits nits medical colleges…i dont think they will ever become pvt ..else there will be a lot of fees hike …there has to have something else in these insittuions rather than privatising them …

When 64% of your jobs and top institutes are reserved this is bound to happen. Last year in the civil services there were around 320 seats left for open competition. Mind you this is open which means all obc,sc,st etc everyone can compete. This is the so called elitist exam which selects all ias,ips etc. With around 6 lakhs appearing for the exam look at the chance of making it through

I cleared JEE Mains and Advanced. Got merit scores. I was not selected because reservation gave ceats to reserved candidates. And bar for score was increased. Those reserved candidates who scored 1/4th of mine were selected.

Education and employment are fundamental rights. But for some vulnerable community especially in this country, it's not possible to exercise these fundamental rights without the rights being secured constitutionally. What a shame.

Reservation one of the leading cause of Brain Drain. Can you imagine if Sir C.V Raman was born in this mess, will never win a Noble prize in physics. Well since independence no Indian has won the Noble Prize in physics. Where Nehur PM, Nehru ki Ladki PM, Nehru Ka Grandson PM, now his great grand son running for PM.

That's why people who leave India never cone back! Reservation itself a discrimination but this is allowed in a so called country where any kind of 'Discrimination' is strictly prohibited 🚫 What kind of logic is this ?!

Wish the politicians in India have the guts to look into this issue with rationality... Fact is rich students from reserved category are now milking the reservation game.... The real unprivileged one's are left out.....

I'm a beneficiary of OBC quota in Undergraduate. That time as a 12th std student I didn't have any understanding about caste system. In school Many of my friends were from unreserved category and we still stay as besties forever. But I saw their dreams crushed into dust because of this quota system. I finished my UG and made sure I enter Post-graduation only under unreserved by working so so hard. It made me respect myself. And when I looked at my intelligent unreserved friends, they left this country and living happily in a foreign nation. I can't imagine what they would have gone through. Some stayed back and still struggling. This is new - inequality system. I will never ever utilise quota system in my life and I'll make sure my future generation will excel being unreserved.

Though your intentions are right, but even that doesn't help us, but harma us more. As that 1 precious open seat is taken by a category individual and his empty seat is made available to his own category person with a lower rank. So it's better for us if you opt your own category seat.

@@Skinsalus Open category is for everyone and I chose to give up my caste identity. I don't want to belong in a reserved category because I know what I'm capable of. One should see it like, one precious seat taken by a deserved individual and not a reserved individual.

This is degrading our Country and the very reason we General Category are leaving this Country to die in the hands of it’s Constitution Makers. Let them be doctors due to reservation but they won’t be able to treat their own and die their own death same way. We ll choose a country that values.

To fill the reservation backlog, Rajasthan govt has selected those reserved category people who had negative markings for second grade teacher exam. Those who are from General category couldn't get it despite good score. Anyone can imagine the future of Indian students considering the quality of teachers. This will not end because no political party will have courage to touch this issue. Even BJP came up with Maratha reservations in MH. It's better to leave country because India deserve reserved people only.

Once a person has used a "reserved quota", his/her descendants must automatically be ineligible for any further SC/ST quotas. Meritorious students from still truly disadvantaged classes can be provided all educational/hostel facilities (at public expense), so that they can study as comfortably as their peers, of higher social status, but the entrance-level scores at medical, engineering colleges should not be lowered. If exams are held only with an anonymous roll number, the possibility of favoritism can also be eliminated: that'd be a real level playing field for all.

The problem isn't reservation, it's the caste system, easy to call reserved when she itself wouldn't leave her caste tag would she? I am general, the kind of disgust people feel on SC/ST is dumb, the EWS, OBC etc are all reservations only, why is that people see the 20% of the seats they get as a problem despite MOST SEATS not getting filled. All you circus clowns and right wing aholes talk about equality, what equality are we talking about? Everyday ppl get killed for caste, how r u going to solve it? What even is caste? Awesome, please keep talking about unreal problems, let's not address the elephant in the room, the caste system, this same woman said woman's reservation should exist. By the same logic, why? We should definitely enable them and provide them all the possible facilities at public cost however reservation doesn't solve any problem rather increased social divide. Everyone is demanding reservation, there will b a time when only Brahmins will be left out and then they will also start demanding. Reservation doesn't work in the long term period. Finalise a time line and phase it out.

@@Prat2023 no it doesn't, you say it like reservation is the cause to the equality conundrum, reservation is a representation tool, there is still not enough representation of the down trodden population, this country has 60% below or just above poverty line, the problem is that you need to be concerned more about lack of opportunities than reservation, the problem isn't 20%of seats, it is the abysmal number of opportunities for most people. EWS and OBC are reservations, I do not understand why none of the people here say those are wrong, how is 8 lakh per annum economically poor when only 0.5 % india earns more than 8 lakh per annum, is this what you call "economically backward"m

@@yethir7327 I don't support any form of reservation including OBC reservation. In terms of representation in politics is concerned there is some merit to having certain seats reserved fot SC/ST. However in terms of education and govt jobs there shouldn't be any place for reservations. There should be constructive tools like additional classes/reduced fees etc at public costs.

She has not touched one very important point. Once a person or generation gets the benefit of reservation, the next generations continue to get the benefit as their birth right depriving the real needy people from the same reserved categories.

Please don't blame reservation system for the feeling of caste that exists in our society motivating descrimination towards lower classes. It's purely because of caste based pride that people have. Unfortunately we are talking about removing reservation system without understanding the root of the idea of reservation that Dr. BR Ambedkar gave. It's not just economical upliftment of an upressed class but social upliftment. Have we achieved social upliftment of these classes yet? Is there nowhere where people carry pride against their so called caste? While these Illness still exists , people should still raise their voice against removing caste based pride in the society, social harmony, before having the courage to remove reservation system. Social harmony should be a prime concern over wealth of a country. A rich nation with ill social condition is a waste achivement, sickness to mankind.

For your knowledge I am a core patriot of my culture and Indian history, I read Gita, I am well aware of my religion. Anyway brother since you seem reasonable, just try to read, know about inequalities that still exists in our country (not just inequality in seats and promotions). @@erenyeager098 imagine you being told you are inferior because you were born in a certain community. Imagine that being written into your very dna by virtue of it being passed on for generations. Imagine you having to look around before whispering im a dalit. Imagine covering in shroud and that becoming a part of your psyche like your second skin. Imagine being made to feel ashamed even though you are a human being like everyone else. That sense of helplessness, the question of why was i born this way. Nobody apart from a lower caste person can understand this. Im not a dalit but i have witnessed a prominent rich dalit politician friend of my father refusing to come to a function at our house and eat because ..... well its been etched into his dna that he shouldn't eat with the rest. He has money but he still feels inferior because he is made to feel that way at every step of his life. Reservation is to give him that status and empowerment. Till when? you ask. Till the day you marry a girl without bothering she is a dalit and till the day you willingly get your daughter married to a dalit boy (if she so desires) without a second thought. That is a metric for equality imho.

She is very brave in bringing this up. Let us share this video more and more

Let me tell you the real story. My batchmate got admission based on caste reservation with 60% marks in engineering college where I struggled inspite of having 80+ did she deserve the reservation? Definitely not. Why. Because her father was mechanical engineer graduate from IIT Bombay. While my dad couldn't even complete hua graduation due to financial background. This is just one example

As someone who missed UGC NET for 1% while someone got it with marks 10% less than me, I'm not going to be sorry to hold grudge.

U deserve to hold a grudge but remember its going to do nothing ....my friend who was too from general category told me ...as a student id u want to succeed in an exam then do not think about the atrocities happening with you coz of no reservation ..instead think that u are getting more challenging task to beat the meritorious students .....so remember that u were just 1 % behind the most meritorious students of the country ...and thankfully the private sector recognizes merit and not reservation ...so lets keep our mind off this trash and let them eat what the sow now by overusing reservation

@@sukumarsawant you're right, I have faith in my own qualities. I can easily have EWS quota since my father is a retired government employee, and if I had it I would have passed the exam flying colours. The cut off for EWS was 6% less than what I have scored. But I choose to fight. I'll qualify the exam, it was my first attempt and I was youngest one there, as the others taking the examination said. But yup, it hurts a bit.

@@sidharthapatra4296 definitely I do. I can myself have EWS if I try. And if I had it I would have qualified (scored 18 marks or 9% more than EWS cut off). But I would rather fight in an open condition. And yeah in my field the reservation is 63% (SC+ST+OBC+EWS+PWD +TRANSGENDER) and the open category seats occupy only 37% of the total space.

Reservation doesn't just affect govt jobs, it affects every citizen.....You have to trust your health in hands of quota doctors in hospitals.......

When an Govt. Gazzeted officer daughter from reserved caste got seat in IIT Seat with no idea what's electromagnetism in physics her score in jee advance is very less than me, makes me depressed who scored 105 marks in jee advance in open category studying 10 hours a day...makes me leave the country and shift to other countries by hook or kook by taking bank loans

Please don't blame reservation system for the feeling of caste that exists in our society motivating descrimination towards lower classes. It's purely because of caste based pride that people have. Unfortunately we are talking about removing reservation system without understanding the root of the idea of reservation that Dr. BR Ambedkar gave. It's not just economical upliftment of an upressed class but social upliftment. Have we achieved social upliftment of these classes yet? Is there nowhere where people carry pride against their so called caste? While these Illness still exists , people should still raise their voice against removing caste based pride in the society, social harmony, before having the courage to remove reservation system. Social harmony should be a prime concern over wealth of a country. A rich nation with ill social condition is a waste achivement, sickness to mankind.

General candidates from lower middle class bring 98% marks and get no good education and job seats whereas candidates of rich businessmen and officer fathers of so-called 'backward castes' living in posh bungalows bring 65% marks and get the best education and jobs. The general candidate remains poor and backward just like his father. Most of the unreserved seats are already taken by the 'backward classes' and the remaining seats are exclusively kept reserved for them to ensure 'equality'. This just a reservation which has vengeance in its mind against the general castes instead of a genuine concern for progress. Only removing all reservations and keeping it only for genuinely poor candidates as its sole criteria can be more promotive of social equality, unity and progress of Indian society. Reservation in today's society is a curse to India. It is just like Jinnah who kept crying and using victim card for extra benefits for his particular minority group untill he cut away half of our country. The reservation agenda on caste today is no different than that.

Best example was IAS Tina daabi for her current marks her ranking will be around 390 to 430 but she got 1st rank because she belongs to SC even though her parents are rich. I have small doubt about her sister also but I don't know her marks.

the only thing about Tina Dabi was that in UPSC prelims she benefitted from SC category cut off mark but in final result she had first rank because she did really well in UPSC Mains and personality test which is more difficult than UPSC prelims and rank is not given based on caste but based on marks.

It is for those people who want to work faithfully but they can't study for that like the students of upper castes as they economic background is soo poor. Even their ancestors didn't have that much money that upper castes have. If you will calculate, you will definately find(even written in ncert school books) that majority of poor population in india belongs to the lower castes, then why should their studious students don't get reservation? The first example of inequality is when the students passes 10th exam and then realizes different cut offs based on caste. Even good friends become enemies due to this caste based system. No Doubt... Why the affluent class of India just wants to move out of India. Reservation in India is eating into the merits in each and every sector. My company brings engineers from Japan for critical construction work. With such huge bunch of Govt doctors who got jobs thru reservation, i wonder why so many people were dying due to covid in India. And all the general category people running to Ukraine and Poland to study medicine.

Remove Reservation no need to think of the people who being 30 has seen 1000 years of reservation

If a person once avails reservation, then he should be the last person to avail the reservation in his family i.e. his kids should lose reservation but not his brothers or sisters. This helps the real deserved candidate to get reservation so real upliftment of that particular community happens. How can a community develop if only few families again and again avail reservation?

That why we have ncl category in obc. Obc whose income is more than 8 lakh won't be under ncl rather he will treated as general(creamy layer). But sadly this is not available in sc st quota.

I got 452 in NEET UG in 2019 as an general category.. Lost the govt seat by 1 mark... And many people who were SC, ST and OBC got govt seats just with 350 marks... Made me suffer a lot!!!

Thanks Wion for pointing this out.I completed my BSc in microbiology but was preparing for IIT JAM for MSc believe me I wasted two important years of my life for IIT JAM.Second year attempt I rank 102 in All India IIT JAM but didn't get IIT,But those who fall under reservation category got IIT even with 300 rank unfortunately I was very disappointed and suffered emotional pain. Then again the college teacher told me to try foreign universities for msc I don't know what magic is I am now admitted in MSc with full scholarship in Oxford University(no.5 University around the globe).However, I come to England and find that there are hundreds of thousands of Indians who are very intelligent but are stuck abroad because of the stupidity of our government.I don't support any political party directly or indirectly but I feel compelled to say today that BJP is indulging in horror games with the future in general category which may turn out differently later on.What I have come to realize is that if the generals do not agitate against it, the generals will have a very difficult time in the days to come

Tina Davi whose parents were Govt. Officers, still got reservation in UPSC. Even after she secured AIR 1 , her younger sister got the Reservation. The same family is enjoying benefits of reservation generation after genration.

Bangladesh dismissed all the reservation in govt jobs after fierce protest from the University students. Ironically Femals students protested against reservation despite ths fact that they enjoyed 10% reservation.

@Reyhana Zia thanks for reminding me that why left India. i never said anything about reservation( i just mentioned how this person think Bangladesh is better than India so i just agreed with him!) but good that u just assumed that i am from some category that took advantage of reservation. This is prime example why both sides are at fault not only the one getting reservation

Dude i get reservation still i hate it to core. I faced no discrimination just bcoz my grandparent or their parents might have faced something i just get the cake oof others right? How us this justified. Well i still opt for reservation coz i dont want to take a UR seat and lessen your chances

4:43 No mam you are wrong........ These OBC and SC and ST with high enough marks get admission via general seats if they clear the cut-off and the rest are reserved for lower grade students. So don't feel pity for top scorer OBC or SC ST as they are eating up the seats for general.

I have left india because of this you deserves low quality services indian people....you look at civil services toppers like Tina dabi who hails from a well to do family still used reservation to get in and ate one seat of her own category person has who indeed needed it......congrats mam at least you have spoken this though nothing will happen but at least someone has courage
