graveyard statue
A simple but effective prop for pro and home haunters. I love the look of these and the silhouette they have. I have seen them done before, but never with spray on bedliner- that is my addition. I used 5 cans for this project. Thanks for watching- please subscribe.

The speed in which you do these props never ceases to amaze me! This is on my list to try this week.
Yeah, this is pretty uplifting. The last few I made i used automotive undercoating spray $4 a can and worked just as well (but needed another coat).
my wife made 5 of this and put around a coldrin love it thank you

awesome, very cool!
I just made this and am pumped with how great he looks. I only bought 1 drop cloth as they are $16. I had a roll of plastic table cloth from my wedding so I used it for the second layer and head. Box liner is $10 so for now I just got 1. I hope using that stuff on plastic is ok and will turn out the same. It definitely is giving it a heavy layered look. I'm going to let it dry and see how it looks then will head back to the store for 3 more cans of box liner.
Monster mud in cheap. I am a firm believer in the "Good , Fast, and Cheap- pick two" theory of prop building. I hate storing and having to seal monster mud statues so I started experimenting with the bed liner. Buy the more expensive cans, the cheap stuff does not go as far per can.
many welcomes, glad you like it. Try it on a smaller scale to see if you like it.
That poncho comment was awesome. I'm involved in a lot of orc and monster costumes and the basis of almost everything is indeed the poncho.
Use black 99 cent primer as a base coat... you will get more bang for your buck with the expensive truck bed liner. I use spray bed liner for absolutely everything!
I need t see your yard when its done for all hallows this is amazing.
My plan is to do a video every week, but some weeks life does not want to let me.
great to see you again allen! alot less sloppy than monster mud! thanks so much for always sharing!
Another amazing tutorial! I'll be testing this once I get all of the materials. Thanks Allen!!!
Yeah, Im not really featuring the face on this piece much, it is more about the shroud.
Made 2 of them this year thanks for the how to. Looking forward to more vids from you. Thanks!
I'm glad you choose this for a video. I just had my wife yesterday asking about how to fill out her caped figure. The corrigated pipe is just the ticket ! You did a great job.
The very most easy graveyard statue to do! ! Thank you very much 👍
You never fail to Amaze Allen, that is a project that will be added to the too do list....Thanks Buddy
LOVE THIS! So fast and inexpensive. Like how this guy gets to the point and this not long and drawn out. Never thought about using truck bed liner, hhmmmm, now I have another use for it other than using it for my teenagers truck!
yes you can, i try to show techniques as opposed to specific projects- "from one thing know ten thousand things" ~ Musashi
love all your vidwos! I watch them all the time . can't wait to try this graveyard status. awesome job. Thank you very much for sharing .
awesome, should make a great addition to my yard haunt. thanks for sharing!
it never ceases to amaze what you manage to accomplish with these ordinary items.
Looks really good. Easy to follow instructions. Thanks for the idea.
That is so near ! Thanks for sharing 💕
you are awesome im totally doing this this year and making my front yard into a cemetery and he can be my grave keeper !!! thanks a bunch
Absolutely amazing! Thanks for your tutorials. I'm definitely making a couple of these this year!
This is amazing. I will be using this on my house haunt for beggars night this next year. Excellent tutorial; rather dummy proof! This leaves even a way to be added to it if someone wants to get even more creative. Thanks for the post!
Love love love this!! Cant wait to see this years stuff at Screams!
Looking forward to trying this! Thanks for the awesome video!
Brilliant! I'm so gonna make one of these this year! Great video, glad to see you back!
It's amazing what you can do! Love your work!!!
Wonderful as always. Your a true expert on the art of haunting.
Love this! Making a bunch this year!
Another awesome vid... it's amazing how sinister it looks at the end. You would never think it's made out of a normal box under there. Thanks!
Awesome work!!! Love it.
Thanks for the tip with the painting drop cloths, I never thought of that. My son and I always decorate the yard for Halloween. We will try and duplicate what you just did. Great job!
This is amazing! Just what I was looking/hoping for. Thank you!
Really fun to watch you create...thanks!
Outstanding, idea--loved it.
A..maz..ing!!! Love it!!! Can't wait to make one...thanks!!

Yay! Thank you! Im doing an update to this next week actually.
Love this video, I can’t wait to build this one for my front lawn haunt this halloween. Love the videos keep them coming. From Toronto Canada
I get mine at an auto-parts store. Pep boys, but any auto parts store should have it. I would love to see it on feathers I bet it would look great!
thank you for watching.
Absolutely beautiful. Perfect.
Oh my god. Im in love. Def making two of these
Awesome instructional video!! Thanks for sharing, I'm def doing this!
Very cool I like the way you cut the tarp aka the hood. Nice to see some great ideas. Thanks
I made this statue and really thought I'd mess it up or it wouldnt look as good at nite. I was amazed at how many kids and Parents also that where more frightened by the statue than of me dressed as a Reaper with Sythe and skeletal face. Thanks for making this video and now I must build an army of these guys. I also like the fact that when storing away, all I did was fold the canvas and the head with pipe attatched on a shelf requiring no more than 2 square feet of space. Thank you Thank you .
Excellent "how to" video. I run a small independent kids film studio in AZ, and this gave me some ideas. Many thanks for posting!
This is so awesome. I am going to make a few of these this year. I will probably make more each year until I have about 15 to 20 of them. Thank you for sharing.
Exactly what I was looking for! Great tutorial! Thank you!

cool glad you like it, Im actually going to do an update video on it soon.
Simple big projects are the best like this. I try to do the same thing, thanks for the video and inspiration.
No idea- I actually stopped using HD for that very reason. But they load fine for me and even on my iphone.
I noticed that too- It looked really cool. Glad you liked it.
OMG, thank you so much. I loved the video and can't wait to try this one.
Thanks for the awesome video. I am going to try and make a couple for my graveyard this year.
great idea, thabks for sharing and glad your back
Looks awesome, Great job!
I learn so much from you. Thank you for sharing your talents. Can't wait to try this.

Go make one!
I will eventually do a video on pnumatics- Im not an expert but I can make and maintain them- so it could be a future topic.
Mahalo for showing this great way to make it. It will make my yard better this halloween.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing. The box and tubing give just enough of a human form and stays true to a Gothic figure. Best of all IT'S WATER PROOF, great for the NW.
That is so neat Thanks for sharing 💕
I love this stuff! Great Job my man!!!
I've often wondered if that (bedliner spray) stuff could be used to waterproof and I also wondered if it would melt plastic or styrofoam and you answered both burning questions. Very greatful for your contributions to the home haunters out there. Thanks, as a home haunter you're a rock star with your ideas! I may try using that stuff on some flat panel tv boxes to make waterproof instant large tombstones.
The latex paint is to add color and to help bind the joint compound as it dries. It is not water proof, you can "seal" it with polyurethane, but even then it is water resistant.
Spectacular !!! I'll admit I wasn't sure at first. That's really bad ass !
WOW....that turned out great! Thanks for the video.

+Bear Smith glad you liked the video!
Thanks for posting this awesome video! I'm trying your method this year, and creating a scene with 4 or 5 children in white cloaks surrounding an alter. Saturday morning can't get here fast enough!
No, you want the thickness as opposed to just the color. You can use automotive undercoating it is only about $4 a can and almost the same stuff.
Please keep me posted on how it turns out. I love that you are testing the concept but changing a few of the materials.
I would use the truck bedliner spray. If the foam is rigid foam then seal with latex paint first.
An 'A Plus'. Much appreciated. Great project and even more valuable, these techniques can go into by box of tricks for other projects. I'm not artistically inclined so like the construction feel to this...great results without the need to draw, paint, etc.

+Tom Aaron Exactly! I really try to show techniques that you can apply to other things.
cool, yeah I try to throw one or two techniques into every vid. I'm glad you are applying one to another project.
Yeah it is a great project. Im glad you like it!
Amazing!!! Your creativity is out of this world
This gave us a lot of great ideas.
It is great to see you back. I had missed U tube Wednesdays.
Omg, I luv those characters.
I dont have any video of them this year, but i know Im doing a full graveyard next year so I will get some good video then.
I made one today and will be making a second one for our haunt this year. Love this idea. I'm on a tight budget however so did mine a little different. I used the same support idea you used as well as the 4x12 tarps from Harbor Freight. In order to save a little money I used a skull from the $1 store, aged it of course..lol, for the head, cardboard for the shoulders, 1 lg can of heavy spray starch to stiffen it up a bit and 3 .96c black spray paint. Looks fantastic. Thanks
it can be moved and stored, it gets firm but not super hard. It can be layed down to store but be careful not to crush the hood. Or just make a base plate for it and store it standing up.
Outstanding!!❤️❤️❤️
Just sinking into all your videos again. Tis the season and finally having a garage over apartment life is a big help haha. Looks great. My kind of crafting making something from spare parts or just a quick run through an alley on garbage day to grab what you can.

Bloody brilliant mate!
Love this one, will try it out.
Bedliner! Who'd have thought . . . ? (You!) What a great idea for molding and holding the cloth - Thanks for such an informative tutorial!
I am going to build this soon. Thanks for sharing!
very cool look and easy. cant wait to try this
Very cool idea. It's a lot if work and takes a lot of different products but in the end it comes out excellent and is well worth the work. And very cheap if you consider how much a thing like this, already made, would cost to buy and this may even be studied and last longer than one you'd purchase. Thanks so much for sharing your idea. I'll have to try it sometime and will show this to my sister and niece because they're always looking for do it yourself idea's and I'm sure they're going to love this one.
haha truffle shuffle. it looks pretty good ... the statue
thank you, very kind. Im glad you like the video.
