We take our bikes (Kona Rove) to the gravel roads in the Shawnee National Forest near Dutchman Lake in southern IL. We find a spring that has been gated off for the preservation of the bats but is still flowing beautifully. Then we get a view of Dutchman Lake on our 1 mile uphill ride out of the valley. We turn toward Bowman bottoms and enjoy the hills and country gravel roads. We see many beautiful sights including birds and a snake, but also deal with some heavy pollen and bugs.
