I live less than 15 minutes outside of Covington Georgia where they flim the series Police station still there and the court house and square Plus they flim in conyers Georgia I live about less then 30 minutes from that set to

He wasn't a bigot. That was only a tv show. He and George Jefferson were the same, on both their shows. Thats what made their shows funny. Most ppl, know that. Love, and respect, Carroll O'Conner!

It was so sad that Carroll O'Connor's adopted son Hugh O' Connor who played Lonnie Jamison on In The Heat of The Night, could not beat his drug addiction. Carroll was passionate in advocating for tougher laws on drug dealers that distribute to those who go to rehab or overdose. The Hugh O'Connor Memorial Law, aka the Drug Dealer Liability Act, was passed in 1997 in California as a result of Carroll O'Connor's non-stop lobbying efforts. Carroll O'Connor was so heartbroken over his son's death. Hugh was named after Carroll's brother who died in a motorcycle accident at age 17. They are greatly missed. RIP The O'Connor family.

I hope to visit this mans grave one day! As a kid I looked upon him as the grandfather I wish I had! Seeing him on All In The Family and Archie Bunkers Place, into in the heat of the night and the few movies after. He did a beautiful job on his book I read over twice! He was a wonderful guy I believe in life! One of a kind! I hope to visit your star in Hollywood and your final resting place! I’ll talk and I hope you listen. He was so good in, Return To Me, with Minnie Driver and David Ducovny. Lots of great actors in this movie, like Robert Loggia, Jim Belushi, Bonnie Hunt and David Alan Grier! And, Kelly's Heroes! Loved Carroll O'Connor!

@@alwayssme Death On March 28, 1995, the third anniversary of his marriage, O'Connor called his father to tell him he was going to end his life. He told his father he believed he could not beat the drugs and could not face another drug rehabilitation program. Carroll called the police, who arrived at Hugh's Pacific Palisades, California home just as he shot himself.[1] The police later determined he had cocaine in his blood. O'Connor's body was cremated and the ashes were originally buried at the Church of St. Susanna in Rome, Italy. Later, his ashes were moved to the mausoleum of the Pontifical North American College in Campo Verano, Rome, Italy. Today, he has a cenotaph at the Church of St. Susanna.
