I've been playing a Kalashtar grave domain cleric (from 1) that just hit 14 for the past year and a half. The entire party has come to depend on her as the one that stops everyone else from dying. She doesn't always do the healing (party also has another cleric(tempest), druid(spore), and a pally)devotion)), but she's the one the fact that she can crit cancel, always has the res spells prepared, and can spare the dying as a bonus action has ensured that she has kept the party from losing a member many many times.

I played a Tortle Grave Cleric and had a blast! And while the guys seemed to to think the Eyes were very situational, let me tell you how comforting it was to able to check a prominent npc living status. Plus becoming best buds with a Pali to make those smites so much sweeter. We ended up saving the souls of some children from a haunted house in an almost action movie climax jumping out with their remains just as the house collapsed in on itself. It was Amazing!

Circle of mortality has several important distinctions in its wording that should be recognized. First, it doesn’t require a spell slot to be used for the healing boost to unconscious creatures. This means it would work with magic items used to heal as long as they are spell based. They probably won’t create one but it would apply to a cantrip that heals as well as long as it used dice. Secondly, it doesn’t limit the healing boost to when the spell is “cast” like other game features. If you multiclass or gain healing spirit in some other way, it would apply on Subsequent turns. Same would be true if you got access to aura of vitality.

Okay; This May be long but I really love this class. I play a Goblin rouge named Gum-Gum who has died and been resurrected twice; and fell (jumped) into the swamp of lost things but escaped through some really good dice rolls after a few months in-game (about 3 sessions) so when there were new players wanting to join our gaming group and a few of the others were leaving ;my DM and I decided that because my character had died; she’d KNOW there was an afterlife. So she’d go on this sort of journey to become a grave cleric and sort of decompress from her time in the swamp of lost things (and run into the new characters and that’s be how the group would form) Also she’s a goblin but because she met the king of the storm giants (when she was just a rogue.) I thought it’d be great to have her be a cleric of the All-Father. So now I have a 4 foot tall Goblin arcane trickster rouge/ Grave cleric of the All father; whose “spiritual weapon” is a Giant Thor-Hammer. It’s really chaotic having this very small creature character worshiping a God usually worshiped by Giants; but it’s so, so much fun to play. Thanks for creating this video as I don’t own the book where this domain is explained. It makes me really excited for stuff coming up with that character in the next few levels. Although I will probably not be allowed to go past level 11 as a cleric. So Thanks for this video. The cantrips/spells from her arcane trickerster background balance out some of the “losses” that this cleric class doesn’t offer. Also, “Toll the dead” is my favorite cantrip from this class so far. Thanks for the video. Just discovered your channel tonight and just felt you’d appreciate the strangeness hearing of a Goblin Arcane Trickster Rouge/ Grave Cleric of the All-Father named Gum-Gum.

Playing a bearded vulture kenku grave cleric in a Domains of Dread (Mordent) campaign and it's been amazing! It's a victorian style theme and very human heavy so Dr. Rook is dressed up as a plague doctor to blend in. His weapon is a tricked out silver tipped scythe. Last week, my dm crit twice and got denied. Then one time, I was not in the zone to heal and I come in and someone was unconscious, that full non-rolling heal is amazeballs. Bane is awesome. Hello gentlemen! Happy Sunday! I am currently going back through all the videos on the channel related to D&D. Making sure to have liked all of them. Yes, ashamed to say, but I missed doing that on some of them. I felt I needed to comment on this class as I played it in a Curse of Strahd campaign. He was a great character. So many great subclass features for that type of campaign. Twilight cleric, which is definitely more powerful if not broken, may be a better choice if allowed. However, I was really happy to go with this subclass. Role play was fun in that I was really able to play up his belief in the sanctity of the grave and how the undead in the demiplane were an abhorrence to him and his deity. Great video as always.

Eyes of the Grave isn't so helpful especially with the Paladin ability that's the same only a little better. The ability to make them take double damage is huge if it's my foe and I can smite them next round!

Whole point of my character is to be the non Protagonist of the group and let them get into more shenanigans as they had gotten by without a dedicated healer till then. Went 8 levels of grave and then now going bard of eloquence route. As a character maxed out in wisdom and Charisma- good rolls- my character is just about being a supporting character. Rather it’s giving guidance and bardic inspirations, healing and reviving people or negating critical hits.
