    I’m just a beginner at guitar playing. And you know, there are so many talented people in the world who are using the talent that God gave for themselves. And I’m thankful that you do this for Jesus! And it gives me hope that some day I’m gonna play these songs for Jesus! Be blessed!

    You'll get there. I'm 40 years old and been playing since 14. The worst mistake you can make is to get frustrated and put the guitar down or put it down for any reason. Stick with it. If your fingers hurt, take a break. Even for a day or 2 to let them callous up some. But just don't put it down to "take a break". I promise you'll regret it no matter how good or bad you think you might be. Hang in there bud. Just do it for His glory and the rest don't matter 😁✝️

    You are already blessed by Jesus, You have a hidden talent, but at the right time the Lord will show you that don't worry. Yes playing songs for Jesus is fun, but singing is also fun, the point is to Praise the Lord!! Jesus loves You!

    Thanks for this tutorial very helpful... just wanted to add this comment... This lesson finger pattern (change 6 to 5 for root 5): Root on 6 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 & 6 & 6 3 6 2 6 3 6 3 6 2 6 3 Or think just repeat this twice: 1 & 2 & 3 & 6 3 6 2 6 3 Another option I saw for this song was (change 6 to 5 for root 5): Root on 6 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 & 6 & 6 3 4 2 4 3 6 3 4 2 4 3 Or think just repeat this twice: 1 & 2 & 3 & 6 3 4 2 4 3 When playing above seems best focus a lot on the root and the and of 2 with other notes softer. Praise on!

    Not with the finger picking. When finger picking, you don't necessarily end up picking all the strings that are being held down. Now, when strumming, holding down for Em does help give the accurate sound. I had to work through that myself as I was also confused. I've only got my guitar a week ago but already learned how to play this as my first ever song on guitar. It's so exciting!

    Hey Michael. I don’t have a D28, ha. I have a D-35, but it’s 20+ years old at this point (from ‘03). Also this Taylor is a lot closer in construction to a Gibson than a Martin. It’s more of a slope shoulder dreadnaught style, kind of like a J45. It reminds me more of that tonally than a Martin as well.

    Hi I appreciate this tutorial. I have the finger picking down I believe but the chords that go with it idk. What does it mean when you say “the thumb always plays the root chord” what does root chord mean there?

  • @alyssahaschick912

    @alyssahaschick912

    Жыл бұрын

    It's the root note of the chord. So if you're playing a G chord, the root note of that chord would be the G. That G that you're playing is on the low E string. Generally your root notes are the lowest notes in the chord and so you just play the lowest note of the chord with your thumb (usually on E or A strings). I hope this helps 😊
