After watching Wear Testers review video on the gratitude 11’s. He mentioned that all previous 11’s were made with cheap patent leather. That’s why they are stiffer. These 11’s are made with actual leather with a patent coating layer on top of the leather. Makes sense why they crease easily.

Ima say the reason might be cuz the patent leather is genuine leather that's been bonded as per nightingale you can see the cuts especially next to the cool greys which looks to be synthetic. Also, the 45s are from '18

@SuperDanTheShoeMan 🤣 it has to be that reason cuz I've worn my 72-10s quite a bit since release and no ceasing. Here's a direct quote of wha he explained. "The tongue is leather itself, so is the patent leather rand, so a lot of the older retros of the shoe were actually fake patent leather or synthetic patent leather. So it was just kind of like a synthetic panel with that shiny coating on top. This is actually a leather piece with the shiny coating on top of that, so how they spray on the polyurethane coat on top of like regular leather similar, but instead of spraying it on it's just a different sheet of fabric that they then bond to it.. you can actually see it in some of the cut lines and everything where you can see the actual fibers from the leather inside of there."

Great video as always. A little disappointing that they creased on you after 3 days. I hit on my gratitudes on the shock drop and i have been keeping them on ice. I was hoping that they would have been a shoe that would age well since they had they have the full leather upper. We just got to enjoy the this season. Maranatha

Otherwise I think they will age nicely... Much less yellowing and dirt that you can't get out.... but dang the creases!!!! Yeah we'll focus on other stuff and not let the crease actually get us down.

Thanks for the honesty of the squeaky tongues.. I have many J’s from th last few years whether it’s white leather tongue 13’sor recent Jordan 7 midsoles that squeak & no sneaker KZreadr comment on the squeaking.. Well Mike Rich recently un-DS’d his Flint 13’s & was highly disappointed by the tongue squeaking

I still like my pair alot. My first 11s are the bred 11s and these gratitudes are my 4th pair of 11s and these are better than the 2006 dmp without a doubt. Can’t go wrong with these. These fit comfortable to me and no problems on my pair got mines from Shock drop. My pair’s quality is amazing maybe I got lucky idk how people getting their pairs messed up

Concords with the 45 was actually worm by MJ against the Magic in the 2nd round in ‘95. Nike didn’t have time to modify but Jordan decided to bring them out. The steal from Nick Anderson, MJ was rocking them…

I don't believe anyone would KNOW for sure... but if it's really true that the patent leather on these is higher quality or more real leather than other 11s, then I'd say it's likely that they really did try to give us a more quality product.... What I said in this video that a lot of people didn't see is that I don't mind creases on any of my Jordan's EXCEPT for 11s. My first 11s in 1996 when I was in Elementary school creased TERRIBLY. Maybe they were using the more real leather back then too. So maybe Nike tried to give us better quality and in doing so it turns out that it wears worse. So for me... give me the synthetic stuff patent on 11s.....

I had the jubeeles Columbias bred. Space jams with no sudden creases. Sure maybe after 100 wears. These crease after 5 wears maybe. That’s crazy

I’m so appreciative of this video and others like it because I like the look of the shoe but the creasing (and squeaking) is a deal breaker for me. I had a pair of Cap n Gowns that squeaked and it’s lowkey embarrassing 😂

That research doesn't change the fact. These are creasing WAY worse than any of my other 11s have. I dislike that. You can do whatever research ahead of time to know what it's made out of... this video shows you what that actually means. It means it's not wearing like a normal 11. IMO... give me the cheaper stuff so I can wear it.
