This is awesome. Sounds like ‘74 - ‘76. Maybe a little faster tempo. Excellent. Just excellent.

I'm crying tears of joy. I never thought I would hear the Dead again. I love Dead & Company and JRAD but you guys, the "Grateful Shred" bring the feel of them, then, right into the room. I saw the Dead before I knew their name, not many people did in December of 1965 when they came on the stage at the old Fillmore in SF at a Mime Troupe benefit. I saw them play probably 60 times up to April 1969, sometimes in a crowd of only 50 or so people when they played at the Matrix, before I left the country for two and a half years and then again in the 70's all the time, a little less in the 80's and even fewer in the 90's. When Jerry died and the band came apart we all suffered, missing the glorious beauty of their music. This is what is rolling out of my speakers now as I listen to you young guys play so majestically, so delicately, with wonderful rhythm, as you capture the spirit that reigned at the Avalon and Fillmore 50 years ago. My heart is filled with joy and I hope to see you live soon somewhere.

@@weis1869 Thank you, WI. I was lucky to be there and, of course, to be able to "hear them". No one had heard anything like what they played then. Some people just rolled their eyes. I was knocked out that night and went on a ride I'm still on 50 plus years later. But I didn't go on a walk with Jesus, though it's a sweet thought. BE well and enjoy.

Facts G, Never got to see The Dead in full swing so I get my fix through these guys and Electric Waste Band, and all the others. But I heard The Wheel in the hood in Chicago. Once I HEARD eyes the first time something just clicked and I saw the world through an entirely different perspective G. Hearing Grateful Shred brings back those memories, those feelings they changed my life G Went from a Gangster Disciple to a Grateful Dead Head . First thing I hear when I take my black ass to Furthur Fest is Welcome Home. Man they weren't lying G. man this whole scene is awesome You are Lucky to have seen them... Tell me that last show for Dead and Company in San Fran Didn't give you chills when that skeleton tipped that hat. Peace and Blessings

Look I like these guys a lot, but I don’t think you are being objective in saying they put the reunion bands to shame. Mayer and jeff are having some serious musical conversations going on here. We don’t have to put down one band to praise the other. Can you really, with an open hear,t, open mind and and open ears, listen to the link I posted and think they put them “to shame”? I just don’t see that, or hear it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/h2aApM6CdszNmdY.html

Sorry, thought that was the pro shot sbd and vid, but it was a crowd shot version. Go to the 1 hour 21 minute mark to see what I’m talking about. Jeff alone is worth the watch. Check the mr Charlie while you are there. Would be interested in hearing your thoughts. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYSrurWvf7WqXbQ.html

Been listening to the Dead for 30 years. These guys are improving, progressing and beat John Mayer. Mayer is good but can't function on Jerry tempo or listening to the other members in knowing when it's his turn. These guys know how to listen to each other.

I think you should give mayer more credit :p I think Mayer chooses not to play like Jerry, but rather creates his own interpretation of the songs and licks. Doing it in an amazing way!! Apart from that, these guys are totally acing it!! wonderful version of Eyes...
