Shit!!! I was there- I saw like 8 shows in 10 days- Can you imagine the pictures we would have if we had cellphones back then? How did we find each other? I am Grateful to have been there - thanks for the memories I'm 67 but still rockin'

This song rips! When people ask why im such a hard core fan of the dead i tell them no band before or ever again will do what the dead did. They experience and camaraderie this band and following affords you is unmatched and and unrivaled by any other. Hell jerrys been dead for almost 25 years still millions of people are following them around. Now thats phenomenonal.

Tidewater four ten oh nine. I remember name/letter prefixes. They served a valuable service in their day. In SoCal, for instance, whether you had a Davis prefix or Faculty meant you could call different parts of town free even though they both started with 32. Toll calls went the way of buggy whips and now it's just numbers.

Listened many times to a bootleg vinyl album with this song on it . Very early seventies performance. Quality of the recording was awful, but I listened anyway. I remember pigpen being frail already, wore gloves and a leather jacket on stage. Saw him at queens college, New York City. Love light played

I have satellite, and today, I heard Pigpen on lead from 7/3/66. Can’t find it on You Tube. Search it out. I think they got the show at least.

And to think Rolling Stone Magazine once called the Grateful Dead (roughly quoted here) "the worst interpreter of Chuck Berry" . Go figya. I mean, if there was any material they could truly nail, these songs were it. Smokin' hot! If someone has to ask, they wouldn't understand I guess.

Bit harsh, not a bad version in my view. Much as I love Chuck Berry, I saw him live once in 1984 and boy, was he going through the motions; I've never heard so many bum notes.
