  • @parthasarathimishra7538
    @parthasarathimishra75383 жыл бұрын

    I think the VFX of Mahalakshmi Mahima is quite simple optical effect, as the background is static. Same as film transition effects in olden days. It's simple optical travelling matte effect. A simple horizontal transition luma matte can be painted(or shot with opposite background) for the two sequences which are of of same length. The two sequences and the transition matte can be synchronized in editing setup to mark the right film start and end numbers for all three and cut out the strips. Then the transition luma matte can be used to create two different composite luma matte for the two sequences. During this step the feathering is achieved with simple camera lens blurring during projection. Then the two luma matted sequences can be be composited optically to get the final shot. May be they had time/budget shortage, otherwise it would have bee much better if the transition matte follows the topography of the body. But needs more of time to paint. Even it would have been far better if they would have shot in blue screen with proper lighting and a highly dynamic background. But this would have pulled the budged too high. It's a ridiculous task, but works well if done properly. This how VFX was done in pre-Digital era. Star Wars as the best example, where 1 second of shot needs around 8 hours of work.

    11:45 I think Its done just by a simple fade transition Where they shot it like a split screen, where they shot 2 takes of it without moving the camera And then just blend both with a fade transition followed by a right swipe transition So both the fade out and in cancel out each other and there is no change in background But the subject changes thats why there is that blury cut because the actor was just not positioned in the 2nd take after the women evolved Thats what I think

    12:30 I think there were 2 footages of the actress walking through the scene in different costumes. They just cropped both of them to the two different halves of the screen and placed them on the two sides . The point pf the screen where the transition of the costume takes place is the place where the two halves meet, thus it looks as if the actress is just walking through the scene transformig the costume, whereas in reality its just two different footages of the actress placed one beside another. Hope it helps

    The following is my assumption : Ashtalakshmi is filmed in "film negative", the camera and the background are static. Here the editor/artist had carefully cut the negative in two halves from the first shot and second shot and have pasted/joined on top of each other in 2-3 frames creating the transition. The artifacts can be seen on the cloud, the blurry effect is because of negative pasting or joining. The same way they use to film the double role sequences. Your views, please?

    12:50 According to me... They may have done this in two ways 1)shoot two different videos with two attires of women then play them half screen with partition of feathery by blurring them.... Ultimately manage by trimming and blurring in such a way that they gives an evolution effect... 2)Or Simply layering two videos and controlling opacity and giving fade transition... ~Harshvardhan Shinde I may be wrong but still thought Good to share what I know... Btw Amazing breakdown 😊😊👏🏻

    @KibaKibi I think in the Last breakdown they just did an opacity change for the girl's movement. As in the first attire she is moving from Point A to Point B and they started decreasing the opacity. And for second attire they started increasing the opacity from 0 to 100%. According to me that is the only way in which they will be able to do the transition rather than placing a green screen and she is moving behind the screen or in front of the screen. What do you think? If you see this comment then please Mention if this sounds right. @Others, please like the comment so that @KibaKibi sees this comment. 👍🏻
