I wish there was a course specifically made for how to use graphics design software. Theory is the easy part, putting it into practice and learning the industry standard software programs is a whole different aspect

To me, the difference between art and graphic design is that graphic design has 'rules' (or guidelines/principles), whereas art doesn't. Art is more free. Freedom to express.

Very well explained, nice visuals, awesome content. Really. Personally I would't think of a pattern as a "principle" different from "repetition". It's the repetition of multiple elements in the design therefore it should fall under "repetition" principle category. Right?
