About 2 Meter Sessions
====================
Based in the Netherlands, 2 Meter Sessions is an independent, ongoing (new) music platform with a great legacy. Monthly we film 3 to 4 sessions with promising and breakthrough acts from all over the world.
Many well-known acts have visited the show; from James Taylor, Elliott Smith and David Crosby to Damien Jurado, Ben Howard and Josh Ritter, via Radiohead, Nirvana, Coldplay and Foo Fighters. Archive footage can regularly be seen in (theatrical) documentary movies, like “Mystify: Michael Hutchence” (with footage of our session with INXS, filmed in 1997), “Heaven Adores You” (with footage of our session with Elliott Smith, filmed in 1998) and “All I Can Say” (with footage of our session with Blind Melon, filmed in 1993).
The show started back in 1987 by radio presenter Jan Douwe Kroeske. On his popular national radio show he persuaded New-Zeeland band Crowded House to play a couple of songs. The response of the public was so great, that 2 Meter Sessions quickly became a household name. In 1993, the show made a successful transition to national television. From there the show became a national phenomenon, for over 10 years, with filmed sessions of new talent, breakthrough acts and arrived career artists. Almost a million of 2 Meter Sessions cd’s were sold in the Netherlands.

Criminally underrated
I was listening this as a young girl..now i am 48..and a collegae of 18 years sent this to me...❤
A total riddle to me why they didn´t ever get more popular than they did...In my opinion they wrote some of the best albums of the 1990s

didn't have the "it" factor. simple as that. them and radiohead were the 2 best bands of the decade though

@@dice1296 No doubt one of the greatest bands of the 90's. They were so different than AIC, PJ, Soundgarden, Tad, The Melvins, Nirvana, etc; that they sort of missed the mainstream crowd. I really liked Paw, out of Lawrence, Kansas, too, but they fell into the same mainstream trap. I do believe if both bands were just starting their popularity now, they'd be head-and-shoulders above the noise that's being played on modern radio airwaves...

I found these guys mid 90's and was captivated, absolutely. Another band similar who flew under the radar was Swell. Such incredible music coming out of the US in the folk/rick genre.

to quote Grant : '' a GLB song is like an old car, it takes a while to get started.''' - maybe that answers your question :)
Was 16 year's old when this came out watching it on Mtv im 46 now and still love it.
What a voice. What songs. Massively underrated band.

@@stevens5541 No way, Mr. Steven. They have many, many, many other fantastic songs. I realize music is subjective, but your comment is truly weird. Using underrated is an insult (no offense to the OP) because they had a good mass of adoring fans, me included. I suggest you give them a better/vaster listen, if you're so inclined. I am super happy I get to roam YT and find them, now. They were a rarity here for awhile. x
As an adult man from a broken home “I’ve been lied to” hits heavy whenever Grant sings it

Grant joked when I saw him live a few years ago that he never imagined singing like this in his late 50's! He can still pull it off.
Saw Grant play live a couple months ago, his voice is still golden. Got to meet him after too it was awesome.

Bro I got to mix him yesterday. His voice is GOLD still
When this was recorded, I was 21. My mom, recently passed. I was in grief but didn’t understand it. This song, the lyrical content describing a feeling, man, hats off, because not many can do this. His voice traces along the edge of a hard on, the one inside the head, when you feel something real yet otherworldly.
I was 12 years old in 1995 and i remember my friends dad was playing this album i asked him what it was and he said the best album of the 90s and gave i too me me!
reminds me my sweet nineties, when I was a student, listening to the best rock bands ever ...
This was my first CD single as a kid. The feels...

Wow. Dirk, you impress me. I was into the "adult world" and missed this completely. I discovered them just as they were set to disappear. This is one of the most brilliant songs I know. The FEELS! The atmosphere.

... sorry, I'm speechless.
Back in 1993, those guys invented already a 2-meter session compliant with Covid-19. Brilliant! Amazing song and video quality for the early 90s.

Love this song. Haven't heard it for about 25 years.
My favourite song ever. Grant Phillips the greatest never to have 'made it'.
This inspired noel gallagher to write Some Might Say(which I love as an Oasis fan) but how was this song itself not a hit
A great song! I love the guitar solo in the album version, which is not present here, for obvious reasons. And strangely enough I first heard it on Tidal probably a month ago as one of their suggestions. This means the band were not so popular in Europe in their hayday, or I would have heard them then.
Super Song !!Super Stimme!!
damn its been awhile..
Que banda espetacular!

The Fuzzy album in 93 was one of the best albums of the decade. I saw these guys at the Town and Country club in Kentish Town. Outstanding band !

This is recorded on 24 November 1993. On 27 August 1993 they have recorded a different version of Fuzzy that was later released on 2 Meter Sessies - Volume 4. Please correct!
