The number one key to success in sales is to detach from outcomes. Set activity goals rather than performance goals. Set a goal to knock on 100 doors a day regardless of the outcome. Clebrate when you make a sale and keep going.... until you hit 100 doors. That way on days when/if you get 100 nos you were successful in completing your goal. Signing up new clients is a by product .

This sounds basic but I needed to hear it. I work in solar and have been setting goals to get 2 or 3 power bills a day and am getting burned out after a couple hours from negative people but if I know 100 doors regardless of outcome I’ll be more productive. Thanks for putting me back on the right track!

Haha all the sound guys here. I wish more podcasts would normalize their volume. I work in a plan and it's loud. We aren't allowed to wear head phones. I have Bluetooth glasses and a Bluetooth hat. And most talking audio isn't high enough. Music is though. It might not increase results drastically but there are videos I would have listened to, like this one, that I haven't because the volume was too low. Even if you mess with audio settings I'm guessing if you don't look a a more advanced menu you might not end up normalizing to -1 db.

Breaking preoccupation and creating urgency is huge. Your not at their door to give them a card or a flyer! You must embrace the “not interested” and relentlessly focus on moving closer towards the close. Door to door opens financial doors that very few careers can. Grant is right when he says most CEOs have started with the grind of door to door.

6 years ago i was so shy and scared with English not being my first language; no self confidence - i've done door to door sales in London for 4 months, commision based only, earning £100 or less per week (6 days); argued with my family as i was not doing any money but i got something money cannot buy - i would do it all over again! i discovered myself and my self confidence went through the roof! done so many different things since then; i will start another job in sales soon..looking forward!

I am in my early 30s and about to do business to business knocking today. My children's mother is sick and no babysitter so I can't hold a full time job. My car is broken down, I don't have a penny to my name. My father came to this country with nothing and worked his way up to owning his own shop. Not pushing yourself further each day is selfish and even in my case disrespectful to my dad for not honoring the lessons of overcoming obstacles. Thank you for making the path ahead less daunting, it will be hard, but you teach people to enjoy the journey.

I use to sell myself as international student to knock on business and get a job, lol it worked got the job also sold door to door meat, painting services, grass cutts and driveway sealing. Driveway sealing was a good one selling 1800.00 in 4 hrs, on the weekend the best part time job I ever had.

Yes, it's really great, I understand Uncle's perspective on how to help others. Especially in providing ways to use resources to make money. Because money will run out if it is not productive. But resources will not run out and can even make multiple money. Even more so if you have a variety of resources Thank you Uncle G.

Did door to door, in a foreign country, foreign language, not mine. Nn the cold windy and rainy winter. You remember the movie, the pursuit of happiness? well, was more or less like that.. haha. All the rest now seems easy. Great experience. Uncle G da man. Being average is selfish. So true.

Harold that's interesting you say selfish. Do you think maybe we hear people saying door2door is a bad job and give up too easy? Maybe it is easy to give up and it seems selfish to take an extra break or go home early. People say they don't like Politicians or Tax inspectors but they do their jobs and get paid. Let's all forget the Door2door is bad your not selfish I hope you make loads of sales in whatever job you do.
