Grandsire Triples at St Mary the Virgin, Twickenham, Greater London

Фильм және анимация

A recording of a practice touch of Grandsire Triples at St. Mary's Church in Twickenham to prepare for the Roger Bailey Cup striking competition on April 13th. The church has a ring of eight bells, weighing 18 cwt, cast by different founders like William I Eldridge, Richard Phelps, John Saunders, and John Taylor & Co. This mix gives the bells a unique and rich sound.
The bells at St. Mary's are known for their deep, grand tones and are quite loud outside. The 4th bell is especially noticeable because it’s on an upper tier. Inside, the bells are loud and hum, with some dominating others, making it hard to hear the 3rd and 4th bells sometimes. Despite this, the bells are very rewarding and easy to ring.
