Grandmaster Leo Giron's Original Style

Спорт

A look at Grandmaster Leo Giron's original style of escrima. The authentic "Bahala Na" style of escrima is still passed on today by the instructors of Bahala Na Multi-Style. Trained directly by Grandmaster Giron, Bahala Na Multi-Style instructors continue to pass on GM Giron's legacy to the next generation.

In my layman`s opinion....the Fillipino Martial Arts (esp. Escrima/Arnis/Kali) are by far and away the most "real world" applicable, practical fighting/self-defense martial arts styles ever developed. The simplicity,ergonomics/body mechanics and underlying philosophy give this often dismissed art form its uncanny adaptability and practicality as a martial art. I hope to someday be able to learn at least the fundamentals behind it. Thanks for the upload!!

This is an amazing find. Those of us who recently lost our Grandmaster, Rene Latosa, are keenly aware of his learning at the feet of Grandmaster Giron, and are ever appreciative of what he taught our own beloved teacher. On a personal note, my Grandfather fought in the Philipines with men like GM Giron on the front lines of incursions into Japanese held territory. May they all be forever blessed, and may we all once again be together.

GGM Leo Giron, definitely was one of the greatest escrimador's of all times. The illustrious Grand Master represents one of the original foundation stones of escrima in Stockton, California. His contributions to all of his student's will live on through all of them forevermore. A fine documentary that is essential to have in anyone's archives. Thank you so very much for sharing. Respectfully, JW Networks/CEO

-Training at that speed and level of intensity with the largo mano is very dangerous. To say these guys are good is a serious understatement of the level of their Kali.

Self defense is easier if you have a weapon, stick is just one of them, arnis makes it easier for you to use anything you could grab and use it as a weapon. Even if you lose the weapon in the fight, same mechanics apply. But then again, everything boils down to your mental toughness, without it, you wont' be able to use your techniques.

Very useful way to train. Often when you practice only he close range check and counter then you will still be scared of this kind of power attack coming from a distance in my limited view of things. So I like these drills.
