I saw him and the Furious 5 in 1981 at the Philadelphia Civic Center. It's great hearing this man speak. He is an icon. Celebrate this man!!!!

in that lecture on how he created his own craft, he just proved, IN EVERY ASPECT OF LIFE, THERE IS GENIUS. In that "breakdown" he proved to you why some of us call him "The True Genius of Hip Hop"

Take note when he says the b boys were the stars of the day not the rappers..,breakers hold the keys to the original Hip Hop Culture because they get the to the Breaks which are the very essence of Hip Hop

Thank you Grandmaster Flash for changing my life as a youngster. Hip Hop was the best thing that could have ever happened. 🙌🏾🌹

I REALLY LOVED THIS INTERVIEW !!! Sway, I was born in 1974 and I ultimately love Hip-Hop next to Punkrock & other genres. But, what Mr. Grandmaster Flash…FLASH1 did for music and spoke about in this interview.🥵🔥Breakin it ALL down from the “honeys“ and the beat, 💃🏾💃🏼💃🏿💃🏻💃🏽 all the way through the material for the turntable or like he called it platter. And how it was created for break dancers & taggers. The science, the math, the anger, emotions and process of what Grandmaster Flash accomplished for the MUSIC (fuck the industry) is such a tremendous achievement and gift to the rest of us. The passion that he has for music and his willingness and determination to be a creator and not a destroyer. Man oh man. This was an incredible 41 minutes. I could listen to Grandmaster Flash hold court for hours. I came into this with what I thought was comprehensive knowledge of the start of this and Flash's part, but I walk away with even more insight.

Kool herc didn't create hip hop. Please do your research. You have to be in the mix of action back then the original head's know grand master flowers started all of this from Farragut bklyn. Grand master flash got his name from grand master flowers Shalom.
