Grandma Mary's House : One Last Look

I prepared this montage as a tribute to my Grandma Mary's house, which was built in the 1930's and will be taken apart over the next few weeks due to age and flood damage.
I offer this as a tribute to this remarkable woman, and to the Salao-Santos family as well, with whom I share so many precious memories in this house.

Thank you for, documenting your Lola Mary's house. I perfectly remember the house. I grew up in Malabon and I know your Tita Chona and Dandy. Nelson, your uncle, or your father? is a good friend and textmate. Yes, it is sad to see the house go. But as you said the memories will always be there. Yes it is sad to see the house go. But as you said the memories will always be there. Your Lola Mary was a beautiful and gracious lady who loved to dance.

Kind of too late for me to comment. I just came across this video by accident. Never been so moved. I can relate to what you said. Definitely politics, economics and time will bring down a house. This house would have been perfect at the Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan (pre-WWII homes). My family's old homes suffered the same fate especially when Pinatubo erupted and we now only have pictures and memories of the past. No matter what kind of home, it's the family spirit that's never torn.

From the look of the things inside this beautiful home, your grandma was the type that liked what she liked, and could care less about having everything pulled together as by a interior designer. I am very much like that myself. She had a lot of eclectic pieces that were simply beautiful. I hope the family managed to get all of these items out of the home before having to leave it completely. You have put together one of the most beautiful dedication memorial videos I have ever seen. Your love comes through the screen to affect every viewer. You are a very caring and special person. Thank you for sharing this beauty and your own with us.

Thank you for sharing this with us, and your memories. We had to leave my favorite childhood home when the Ventura Freeway took it via Imminent Domain in 1956. In the years 2004-2008 I searched in vain for our re-located house but could not find it. In 2016 I traveled to Jasper, Texas to see the home my grandparents built in 1952, where I spent many carefree childhood summers, one last time. While I was unable to go inside, I did scatter my parents' ashes there and at my mother's childhood home about a mile away. These old family places are special in a way that words can not describe. I wish someone had made a similar video record of our Sarah Street house while our furnishings were still there and the rooms were intact.
