A "Gacha" is a kind of bubblegum machine, drop your coin and spin it to get your price. GS is the most energetic live band you will ever come across. This one is a slow and rather uncharacteristic song showcasing Angie 1/3's great voice and Tomo-zo's excellent guitar tone. This is a band you need to explore further, no spice girls here, and they don't mind having fun. High end musicians all of them. As others have mentioned, these will set you "straight": 😉😉 Mindset: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g6GAkrhvZpq3qqw.html (Funky, funky, funky. F Chopper Koga is so precise, and Tomo-zo's twanging riffs) Tamashii: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fKhrj6mAgsSZnsY.html (Yuki and Hana's precision on 2 drum sets is really impressive, and Hana singing simultaneously!) I Wish I: kzread.info/dash/bejne/X4ZqsNSrj9LTmqg.html (Oh my, do hey surprise you!) Lock On!: kzread.info/dash/bejne/i2Wjt9qtZrWdito.html (Another banger with F Chopper Koga doing her bass-thing) Mirai Ronso: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqiuvKxwibvIpqw.html (Angie 1/3 singing Spanish, she is half Spanish) Oh, and they have a spin off called Doll$boxx with Fuki from Unlucky Morpheus, slightly more a rocking crew, could be more up your alley: Shout Down: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eIqatNl7labUdZM.html Oh again, the have an old sde project called Metallic Spin doing Blackmore's Rainbow stuff: Metallic Spin - Spotlight Kid: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m3aLzbmem9Gwk9I.htmlsi=WkFxl62_SLz-hUrT (All wearing wigs! Tomo-zo showing her stuff and Oreo doing a real Lord/Airey on the keys) Enjoy! 😀

Great reaction! Gacharic Spin is one of the best bands from Japan and one of the most versatile in style. They usually have a strong element of funky rock in their music, occasionally heavier. You should definitely listen to "Mindset" and " I wish I" (as a start).

You chose a ballad song, which is unusual for Gacharic Spin. I hope you will listen to their other songs as well! I recommend the same as everyone else, "Mindset"!

This is a great, great band! Their discography is extremely diverse so not every song works for me, but they have so many wonderful songs. Almost impossible to put them in a specific genre. (That Spice Girl reference was horribly misplaced). Here are a few of my favorites: "MindSet:, "Kachi Kachi Yama", "I wish I", "Gold Dash", "Don't Let Me Down", "Juicy Beats", "Forever 9teen" and "TAMASHII". Yes, to more of them!

Add me to the group saying this is definitely one of their most mellow songs, they are usually bouncing off the walls. They may be the highest energy live band in Japan, definitely top two or three. Mindset or I Wish I are more in line with their regular sound with their current lineup. They have been around about 15 years and have a very diverse catalog. Definitely worth a second listen.

I really love that you know that usually a band can't be judged after listening to just 1 song. :) With "Voice" you have pretty much chosen a song of Gacharic Spin, that is an outlier and on the mellow side. Still an emotional song with a deep personal meaning for Sporty (lol), as it's an ode to her late father. Before I go into a lenghty essay, why they are one of the most talented, skilled and extraordinary band with a deep tendency to bend genres, I'd suggest we talk again after you try one or two more songs by them. Go for Mindset (the studio version) and for Sekira Liar (live from Line Cube Shibuya) next, then you should at least have a first impression of their diverse catalogue and their abilities. Looking forward to your next reactions and Cheers :)

How can you judge a band from one song, not possible. Remember this song is part of a whole concert. there has got to be light and shade along with all the hard rocking and metal, songs a ballad gives a respite before the build up of the songs to follow. Make no mistake GS are a fantastic band and all the members are superb musicians. The bassist is one of the best in japan as is the guitarist. If you are going to judge on one song it rquires the correct song to be chosen to react to, so no don't give up on them, unless you are only into metal.

Believe me, these ladies don't have anything in common with the Spice Girls. 🤭 Gacharic Spin is unlike almost any band you've ever heard. If there's one band that can't be pigeonholed, it's GS. This a rather subdued song for them and also one with deep meaning, as singer Angelina's lyrics are about her father who died early in her youth. Give the ladies another chance with 'Mindset' and 'I Wish I' and you'll understand why there's a certain hype about them. I promise! ✌🏻 _____________________ _"Sometimes we laugh because we're sad or to hide our frustration"_ - from *Gacharic Spin* -「 I Wish I 」 🎶✨

👍 my favorite band, tho I admit they’re hard to love. In the studio, they can’t resist throwing in the kitchen sink and reveling in their reputation for chaos. And they’re not metal, they call themselves an “all around entertainment girls band”, which has included skits (recorded and live), slapstick, characters, costumes, comedy, and choreography and have even been main characters in a (comic, band/music oriented) zombie movie! Musically they started out as electro pop punk dance. But they throw in Everything, from jazz to prog to Latin to rave to punk, with a core of funk rock. This(Voice) is amongst their most balanced songs, but their chaos is what’s exciting. And they’ve released live arrangements of semi-acoustic versions of their songs that show they can be sensitive as well, and that highlight lush harmonies (they all sing at some point to varying degrees) rather than their sometimes hysterical hype voices. How about if Rush took a teen growling rapper to a rave?, then try the underrated music video Gold Dash. They are known for their positive/encouraging lyrics too btw (even if Dream Eating Shark and CommonSense Destroyer have very sarcastic takes); the entire GoldDadh album was written and dedicated to (commissioned for?) the 2020 Para- Olympic athletes kzread.info/dash/bejne/nmycp5mRnLXRhaQ.htmlsi=ayUhFmiBLgzrO2Lg For something more guitar oriented, but a little raw, try live shortened version of Reverse Psychology into The Come Up Chapter. kzread.info/dash/bejne/l3l6u8psh8zfkqQ.htmlsi=qNER8GmXmQ2yOkp4 Takayoshi Ohmura (BabyMetal’s most famous guitarist) has written two tracks for them, and has them as host band for his annual Birthday concert, plays with them, often including other Kami Band members too. Separately, they have spin off bands: Metallic Spin (with the singer from Sabre Tiger) does classic metal covers (Rainbow, Metallica’s Battery) whilst in caricatures of European metal snobs. And their biggest success was the separately signed project Doll$Boxx starring Unlucky Morpheus’s singer Fuki, which was an early influence in “Kawaii Metal” and IMHO a direct influence on the Maid’s “gap” concept between appearance and sound. kzread.info/dash/bejne/n6lm3JaOlpy6l8Y.htmlsi=5N58nV4qtTbWdcYk Lastly, something that I think is right down their middle (although Sekira Liar is a strong candidate (many great versions, but here’s the first release, shows their incarnation that included “performers” kzread.info/dash/bejne/doesm9xxiseqfZM.htmlsi=VE9eEojaZ48_-pMK ), and Mindset changed their direction the past two years kzread.info/dash/bejne/g6GAkrhvZpq3qqw.htmlsi=Fkb3JqpjFu8tdNme ), try Juicy Beats. This 10th anniversary live version stars the brand new singer just before her senior year of high school, and was reworked from one of their earliest dance tunes (with prog breakdown) to now be heavier and yet more diverse kzread.info/dash/bejne/ooOW0q9mfbHWhs4.htmlsi=mn3-NIZrNlPjAHuW I’m enjoying your channel, esp the Japanese scene exploration. Keep it up 🤘🎸💃😎

Li-as-X Band, and its successor Koiai, actually have Nemophila’s guitarist Hazuki as LisaX’s co-lead. Great mashup of proggy shred and pop vocals. They’ve had guest musicians like Billy Sheehan and Marty Friedman’s current bassist. But I’ll start you off in the middle, Here’s one Hazuki wrote, simple vid of two lasses playing guitar in the living room, like they’re not a big deal 🤷‍♂️🤘🎸💃😎 “Just Be My Treasure” kzread.info/dash/bejne/n4KT0a6qhM7HZrA.htmlsi=eD69ix4zKCuxkHwN
