Tarkin is a boss! He's literally my boss.

It was a really power scene with 2 very senior imperial rivals. Tarkin is a bit more senior but Krennic is high enough to not be intimidated by Tarkin himself but more of the implication of approval by Vader or Palpatine.

Hard to believe they managed to pull off rendering Tarkin's original appearance onto a new actor. Shows how far we've come with special effects.

It wasn't just the face replacement that sold it; that was probably the easiest part of the entire thing. Guy Henry matched the late Peter Cushing's mannerisms and his accent flawlessly. And yes, there's still the entire "uncanny valley" thing with the eyes, but the performance was so good that you could overlook that, unless you were nitpicking, in which case, you probably would have been better served seeing another movie.

I really enjoy this CGI Peter Cushing as Grand Moff Tarkin as much as if they did have Peter Cushing reprising his role. He did a very good job as Grand Moff Tarkin in A New Hope.

Peter Cushing looks like he hadn't aged a day since the filming of Star Wars IV A New Hope.

Modern generative AI would inject more "information from nowhere", he's still in the uncanny valley.

Would've liked to see more of Tarkin and Krennic's rivalry.

That was no rivalry. In the book Tarkin it is revealed that he is either the second or third man in the empire. Krennic was nowhere near him.

Krennic was a better choice my lord, he knew the death star better than Tarkin.

My second favorite star wars movie right behind star wars a new hope.this movie star wars rogue one is awesome 👍

True it ain't perfect but it's still pretty impressive

Don’t know why this movie got so much flack; it was one of if not the best Disney Star Wars releases(which isn’t saying much).

I wasn't aware it was; out of all of the Disney "Star Wars" movies it's the second highest-grossing one of the franchise until "Last Jedi" knocked it down to third place. It was very well received critically as well. Yes, a certain vociferous minority of the fan base groused about it, but I suspect the only thing that would have satisfied them was another George Lucas-directed monstrosity, and the sad (?) fact is that unless George Lucas buys back "Star Wars" and/or Lucasfilm from Disney (or they actually let him have it back), this is what "Star Wars" is now. And quite frankly, I don't want George Lucas back in it; he never would have done something like "Rogue One." He gave us Jar Jar Binks; for that alone, he should be submerged up to his beard in Bantha offal, then fed to a Sarlacc...

This is quite possibly the best Star wars movie scene. TCW s7ep11 is obviously the best in tv.

This movie and the Mandolorian has reinstated my faith in Disney star wars. It shows that Disney star wars does have potential as long as they stick to a plan and to anthology. I mean shit Disney hit it out of the park with Rogue One. They brought back the Empire. Not some wannabee replacement like the First Order, but actually brought back the rebel alliance and the empire for this film.

Tarkin during Rogue One talking about blowing up an entire planet: “that wouldn’t be necessary; we need a STATEMENT, not a MANIFESTO…” Tarkin during A New Hope talking about blowing up an entire planet: A REBEL TRY TO PLAY ME… I’M’A BLOW ‘EM OFF THE MAP A.S.A.P.

It bothers me that they just didn't use the actor as he was, instead of putting digitized stuff over him

Uncanny valley Tarkin is sadly one of the things that will age the worst in this movie

These effects did not age well. It should have only been the reflection

If you are obnoxious nitpicker than maby. Otherwise it looks fine as it always did. Leia in the ending though is different story.
