I was gonna say it’s crazy that a door module could affect all those systems, but when I started thinking about it, it’s really not. Looked like a fairly simple fix, thank goodness. I heard you mention that keyless pad needed to be replaced. I came out to find the keypad on my F150 hanging out one morning. I thought someone had tried to break into it. Started looking around online, and evidently it’s pretty common for the clip on the plastic bezel to snap. I was going to have it fixed at the dealership because my truck is still under warranty, but I found a much quicker solution. After looking around on KZread, I found a video of a guy who was trying to fix the one on his truck and figured out that the plastic bezel will come off with minimal effort. He ordered a new part from Amazon, took the bezel and installed it on his keypad, problem solved! I did the same thing, cost me 30 bucks for the pad and bezel, job done, and I have an extra keypad if mine ever goes out. That’s why these videos are important, guys like you show people that they can fix minor things themselves if they want to. Love this kind of content, have a great weekend.

Got a clean, California 2003 Ultimate recently with a random DOOR AJAR gremlin. Trying the contact cleaner bath on latches/switches, hood switch, trunk switch. Had to unplug the horn as the alarm would come on randomly. DDM replacement is next if it can't be traced to a switch. Thanks for this video!!!

Hey Ford Boss,....some info I gained that might help others. My alarm would chirp when I lock it with the fob, but would not lock or unlock doors. Pushing lock and unlock manually wouldn't work. Trunk would not open with fob or manually pushing button. Key pad would not lock or unlock, but would alluminate. Everything else worked. Took door apart did some testing with a multimeter on the DDM,..concluded that it did have power, press unlock/lock switch and at the same time check for input and output. The DDM had input from the lock/unlock switch but didn't have any output to unlock, opened the box, cleaned the board with a soft brush, lightly tapped all the parts inside and put it all together, put door panel back on, still wasn't functioning the next couple days. My finding was that the DDM was no good. Spent a week searching wrecking yards for a DDM, no luck. Car sat for 2 weeks after that. 2 weeks later went to warm it up,. ..guess what,....EVERYTHING started working again, like nothing ever happened. Hope this helps others. 2003 Town Car. Like the idea of fixing up an older car so that it turns into near-new condition.

That's good to know the PCM doesn't need to be programmed to recognize the module. I was wondering about that. I pulled the module and keypad off a salvage car in case mine ever went out in the future.

I don't know it all depends in the future but right now I'm going to enjoy it the way it is it gets about four miles more to the gallon than the Town Car does with the 373

They are not missing, I get this comment from people dozens of times every month and have to say the same thing all the time I Purposely remove them because they get stolen

Does this car have a OBD port?

Before I go to the modual, I've checked the fuse, (which is OK) but I don't know what relay controls those items can you advise which one it is?

Got window problems? Trunk poppin like its hot? Locks posessed by the devil? Maybe side mirror issues (i think) Its the driver door module that relays all that stuff. Surprise! When you slam that door your impacting it.

hey could you hear any clicking in the module when you hit the inside lock buttons? mines got no door locks working in any of the four doors but when I hit the lock/unlock button on the inside of the car I hear what sounds like a relay click coming from the door module? I have no power coming out of the module to the two wires to the drivers lock actuator, but I can power the door lock actuator with my power probe and it works fine.

I have tried 7 or 8 used modules on my 01Town Car. Got the codes from the dealer . None worked with keypad...even new keypad...only worked with toggle switch on armrest. Thoughts? Were all those bad? IF so why did they work with toggle switch?

Hi, it’s so impressive. Where did you get this module? I ordered one ebay. unfortunately they not working at all. When I ask to ford technicians, town car need to reprogramming ddm.

Yeah I mean you can program the driver door module but I didn't have to do that I just picked a random driver door module to fit

Something with my marquis is messed up and it has to do with the door locks somehow. Sometimes the auto locks don't work and then something is clicking under the dash and all my outside lights flash on and off for no reason. According to the fuse diagram it doesn't look like the relay thing has anything to do with it and it's not part of the hazard lights because i can turn them on when its happening.

Well there was like a recall thing for the Panther platform cars which include the Marquee for the lighting control module being bad so what you need to do is call up your local dealer give them the VIN and see if there's any outstanding recalls open on your car

If it's a 2003 and earlier it is on the hinge in the trunk, but the other door code I think you have to pull with a computer under the security system called door code

How do I pop my trunk if it’s locked and the key don’t work anymore?

In a pinch, I used an old test light to ground a wire going into the DDM, I'll have to look up which one. Looks like the white/violet wire on pin 12 of connector c501a of the DDM, decklid release.

Make sure that there are no cuts in the green wire inside the black hose, you will find the reason

No that is not the reason why I showed you the permanent fix to this and it still fixed today

Enjoy your stuff 6 year old ticket can it's already here first thing you had to work on your car I have to 11 interceptors got both of them low mileage 2 years old did they ever make a better car PS six-year- technician doesn't have the to stretch your legs where is a young buck the first thing I did was see how damn fast it would go

What’s your guess on why it failed? Low voltage on the battery causing higher amps on the circuit board? Oh I forgot there where mice eating the wiring ( short )
