I sat at Quartzsite this year watching the GD RVs rolling in for the rally. It was CLEAR they have a suspension problem. There was a rock in the road near where I was camped, and watching them flex, bend, and hearing their frames bang around just going over that one rock showed these campers have issues.

All RV's are crap, but if frames are breaking and walls are separating, that's just ridiculous. People like you will force these companies to get better. We RV'rs thank you!

My brother bought a jayco eagle last year. Got it home. Fridge broke. Month later. Window leaking bad, dealer 2 hrs away replaced fridge and window. Window still leaked. Back to dealer for new window again. Got it home and 2 weeks later massive roof leak. ENTIRE ROOF AND WOOD replaced.. Lost the entire summer of camping and all this before he camped in it a single time.

I’m going for a Super C Newmar and will still have it inspected, even new! I would like to tell everyone to ALWAYS get an independent RV Inspection!!! I would even with an end bus! Having said that, there are a few Dealers that are so reputable that they will make sure your RV is right before you leave the lot! And will always provide excellent customer service!!

Totally unbelievable. 2 GD rigs you’ve screwed on. You’re a very strong man … I’d be crying in the corner by now. I have a 2022 Momentum 376THS which is 41 feet long - definitely in well known range for frame failure. I spent $9700 at an independent RV welding shop in hopes of averting the fate so many others are suffering , and am investing another $4000 in a few weeks to upgrade to Roadmaster slipper spring suspension in further hopes of babying this GD product for at least a 10 year life of full time travel. I do love my unique floor plan that other manufacturers simply dont have, but after following you and Pete West and the hundreds/thousands of GD owners that are dealing with catastrophic failures and shortcomings I will absolutely NEVER buy another Grand Design product (which with all the major repairs having to be done to hundreds/thousands of rigs, they could very well be bankrupt and out of business in a year from now anyway).

I bow my head in shame that I own a 2022 GD Transcend 260RB Travel Trailer and deal with floor creaking from day one (they wouldn't repair it, they say its due to the where the fresh water tank is located) - had main entry door replaced because it was hung wrong - Front A frame was still in primer and not the nice flat black paint and had to have the dealership remove the rust and repaint it. I left a 2021 Forest River 24RLXL that had slide out issues. Hoped going to GD i wasn't going to experience this and its a Travel Trailer and not Fifth Wheel. We need these vendors to held accountable for there products - great video's and have been watching every since one that you put out. I still think Good will win in the end. My brother and his wife tried to go from several years of living and traveling on a sail boat and then a trawler design power boat to a motor home. To make this story shorter , it was a total disaster from day one. As they were leaving the dealers lot ( the largest RV dealer in their state) water started running down the INSIDE of the windscreen . They stopped and walked back to the sales office , they were given every excuse you can imagine . They left it with the dealer and were assured it would be looked into. This was only the first of many serious issues that were not resolved. They sued , went to arbitration and eventually got all their money back.

Good Stuff! Yeah, at this point, you may be better off just renting a camper or RV when you want to go on vacation. No headaches, no maintenance, no storage, no concerns. Someone once told me if an asset does not increase in value, "Rent IT" if you need it. Never Buy it. Probably some sound advice. I drive old paid for cars, 2001 PT Cruiser with over 100K miles on it for our local driving, but when we want to go on a trip or across the country to visit family, we always RENT a nice new vehicle. Rent is cheap vs owning a depreciating asset. It's sure a hell of a lot cheaper than owning and maintaining and insuring and storing a depreciating asset. And when I get home, I simply hand them the keys and smile all the way to the bank. I believe I have literally saved many thousands of dollars over the years doing this, and I have no regrets. When you consider ALL of the costs associated with owning an RV of any kind, really, unless you live in it full time, I believe it's nothing more than an ego trip and a money pit for most folks that shell out the big bucks for this stuff. Now a days, you can not only rent a nice rig, but you can also rent a driver that will take you wherever you want to go, and of course it's not cheap, but over the long run, it's probably less expensive than all of the costs associated with buying, repairing, storing, insuring and worrying about the RV on a daily basis. It's also pretty cheap to fly wherever you want to go and rent a home or condo pretty much anywhere in the world and you have no worry or expense before or after the trip. Now That's a Vacation! I know someone who is on their second RV. The first one was a 5th wheel they bought new for around 100K or so. It's sitting on a lot somewhere rotting away because they can't sell it. It was used by them for a total of less than 12 months over a period of 6-8 years. A few years ago they purchased a Class A RV, and it's been out camping with them for a total of less than 5 months since they bought it. It's just sitting in the sun rotting away and losing a butt load of value every year. Oh, and yes, they still have the 5th wheel, can't find anyone to buy it. It's sad, but I see this all around the country, people losing tons of money on their RV's and not even using them for a fraction of the time they own them. Anyway, just thought I would share my opinion with you. Something to think about for sure... Keep up the great videos, I hope all works out well for you with Grand Design. I'm truly sorry this has become such a nightmare for you and your wife. Hopefully it will have a happy ending... Oh, and a little suggestions... For your video, it looks much better with all of the text facing the right way. Now you just need to reduce the intro and outro audio volume track during editing by about 50% because it's kind of hard on the speakers/headphones and ears going from intro / outro to the actual vocals in the video which are much quieter. Otherwise everything looks good!

IMHO the more it cost the worse it is. My drive side wall started to separate from the subfloor. I discovered that there is not even one screw used to attach the sidewall to the interior walls. There is only fastening at the roof trusses and the floor. Not even the frame in any way. My unit is 14 years old. So I set about bringing the walls back into contact and properly fastening the inner and outer walls with thickened epoxy and lag type screws. My frame was fixed after 18 months with 2000 pounds of steel in a qualified weld shop.

I had a 1962 Shasta 12ft camper I camped out of in southeast Texas the camper was older than me finally the structure was separating from frame after over 50 years I believe the Rv industry needs a huge wake up call and have to be under building inspections just like a house being built it needs regulation’s or else the consumer who finances almost a significant amount of their savings into something that’s not regulated or subject to inspection when being built. Talk to your legislators and push for a bill on regulations because they too have lobbyists stopping this . And guess who gets a free Rv the politicians.

There are some MAJOR quality issues on the production line---understatement. Grand Design needs to develop or refine policies/procedures/instructions (with the assistance of people in that industry that are NOT connected to GD. Inspections are either shoddy or non-existant but in either case unacceptable. Retraining or removing existing employees needs to be addressed. Once those procedures are developed they need to be agreed to by management and employees and they must be held accountable for mistakes. Metrics on existing procedures need to be taken and corrective actions where necessary. Shut the factory down for a solid 1 or 2 weeks. Yes I know PROFIT, but what happens as these issues continue to happen and/or the frame breaks while on the road 55-60 mph. Death, MASSIVE lawsuits, etc. Get a hold on it Grand Design. I was in the aerospace industry for 35 years and there were times we implemented the very steps I outlined above, so I know what I'm talking about.

I’ve owned three towable rv’s since 2015. I’m in the process of selling a 2022 jayco travel trailer I purchased new. I haven’t had those kind of problems with any of the ones I’ve owned and they were all Jaycos. But I have to tell you when the current one is sold I’ll never, ever, ever buy another rv. They just aren’t worth the money anymore and they are way overpriced. Going forward when we want to travel domestically we’ll probably just take nice road trips in the car and stay in nice hotels or air bnb’s. With price of fuel, the RVs, staying at campgrounds which by the way are ridiculously overpriced as well. The whole rv/ camping experience is ruined by these companies that have taken over.

I have a watched a few of your videos now, and I'm stuck on one question. When they bought the old one back, did they also give you the Reflection at a discount or free? Because otherwise why would you have purchased another GD knowing all the issues swirling around them?

I dont know why i got this feed this morning, but i owned a 2015 Momentum toyhauler. Bought it new, swapped out previous trailer, drove back to trailer park a couple hours where i had all my junk on the ground. Loaded everything up, and headed home. At home, couch slide was screwed up. Had to take it to lippert factory and i watched them weld up and strengthen the slide. IIRC they gussetted all of them. I was in and out same day.

There's no way I would have a camper that size. The math involved in moving that down the road and shaking it like what happens during a small earthquake to a structure that's stapled and glued together takes no time to shake apart. I live in Indiana and have been going to RV shows in South Bend and Chicago down to Indy. EVEN THE COACHES they bring to showcase are almost always messed up from broken trim to LEDs that aren't working already. Your best bet is to stay away from the larger volume companies, stay away from dealers and go direct to the factories that sell to the customer. I like smaller campers that have less flex, NuCamp is my current but I would consider CampInn since it's made like Airstream was. I would also look at anything imported from Australia or South Africa since they have a much more rugged atmosphere to deal with. Innotek, Taxa, old Airstream and Argosy would be the units I would consider.

Sad that the RV manufacturing business produces sub par products. I had a Newmar and a Monaco from 2003 and 2005 and they were built like Sherman tanks. Went all over the country with just general maintenance!

It's a shame brother quality. Just aint what it used to be And either is a man's word Me and the wife were looking at getting a 2024 grand design Momentum, 397 When all Frame flex started coming around. We backed out. Purchasing a grand design anything We are looking at a Luxe fitwheel Based out of Indiana, no Dealerships custom builts You deal with a rep if you happen to get a chance to look at it. They got excellent Reviews. Good luck with everything. Keep your head up. You are doing the right thing, brother. And thank you.

Noticed that the trailer appeared to still have your license plate on it as it pulled away. It will probably run the Illinois and Indiana toll roads, so you should watch for notifications for unpaid tolls and fines. Also, IMHO, GD broke the NDA when they promised a well built new trailer and the Reflection has its own problems.

Love your videos I’ve had three new campers in the last three years. The last one I just got rid of was a Grande design momentum piece of crap. ended up buying now which is what I wanted to begin with a DRV full house. Hands-down, the best quality out there unless you went to Lux or spacecraft check into it.

I'm sure they've already seen this. If the management had any balls, they would build this gentleman a perfect unit and substitute it for the old/new defective. Many of these problems and it's really going to cost Grand Design and Winnebago in sales.

Well...none of this started until Winnebago got hold of GD so they probably do know all about it. I said years ago (what was it 2016?) that within 3 years of the Winnebago purchase that GD would be garbage as all the original folks in charge bailed. I said the same with the Tiffin sale and from what I have seen on KZread the same is happening with Tiffin quality.

Holy CRAP!!! So I don't know if you have seen this, but BigTruckBigRV is trying to start some quality improvement movement. Alliance RV jumped on board basically the first day he announced this. Guess who else "claims" to want to join this movement....yep you guessed it...Grand Design! If that does not make you piss yourself laughing I don't know what will. Grand Design promising to improve quality....all I can say is "ya right" 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Sorry for all the issues you are having and these issues are EXACTLY why my wife and I have put off upgrading our RV because our belief is this is an industry wide issue.

So sorry to hear about your issues. We had a 2019 VanLeigh Vilano that had the neck flexing/separation issue as well as the rear wall separation from the frame. The aluminum construction plus the sheer weight of these large trailers simply cannot tolerate the crappy roads we drive on. Not sure how the engineers and designers can allow these out of the factories…I’m pretty handy with repairing things but these Repairs were way past my skill sets, finally gave up and sold it.
