Alicia de Larrocha is one the greatest interpreters of Spanish music! I had the privilege of meeting her after her recitals in Los Angeles several times in the 70's - true nobility!

I caught her playing Mozart at Tanglewood in Massachusetts way back when! She was remarkable.
What a treasure to hear this composition LIVE! Alicia was the only one who mastered the works of Granados completely. Bravo Alicia! We still mis you.
Her glory days! One feels the love emanate from her playing when she speaks the language of Granados with heart and soul.

You should know that the live recordings of AdL on KZread, at least the ones I post, are taken from cassette tapes recorded from the audience (so not professional recordings) or from videotapes recordings of concerts that they were broadcast on TV many years ago, so you can't expect the sound to be like a studio-recorded CD or LP. I publish them for the interest they may have for being, until now, unknown and, even being aware that the sound has a poor quality, I think it's worth listening to.

What was wrong with the piano? It sounds amazing to my ears, and no one conquered pianistic sonorities like she did...turned the piano into a full orchestra! As for suffering, it looks to me like she's having a great time! God, who wouldn't dream of playing like that!

She would have prepared the piano beforehand. And played it many times. Probably commissioned to recommend it for the Palau.
