I attended the final of the first series of UC (1962-63), in which the University of Leicester defeated Balliol College, Oxford. I met Bamber Gascoigne 55 years later when he spoke at a public meeting in Leatherhead about inheriting the nearby West Horsley estate where he helped to found a brand new opera house in the grounds. A charming and much accomplished man.

The first question shown is on the layout of the universe. My only purchase of an IBC document was the world-map correctly oriented; on the reverse the explanation of the 'inside-out universe' containing a singularity. Map lost years ago when lent to a work colleague from the other hemisphere, but in discussions on astronomy I sometimes refer back to that model of the universe, which I lost. I wish everything I've bought gave me as much pleasure and opportunity for contemplation as that wall-poster.

Has anybody ever seen the American show this was based on? The original run of "College Bowl" aired from 1959 to 1970, though it predates that by a few years on radio. It's since had a few shorter runs here and there, with the most recent version airing for a couple of seasons by former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning.
Why did you only upload 3:30mins?!
Why a total of 40 points for fhe first bonus but only 15 for the second? Leeds didn't find the question particularly difficult to answer, so why wasn't it 5 points for each name, rather than 10?
