I agree. The intro theme since 2013 has been awful.
The earlier part of 1999 is a really grim period of continuity from GMG North. Fully ITV branded trailers, ITV branded break bumpers but still the old idents having no relation to any of the other continuity hanging on often being played out in silence to make it easier for Leeds to announce for 4 stations at once. At least the generic hearts idents tidied this up a bit.
It was recorded on Thursday 1st April 1999.
Trevor Mcdonald was the main presenter on this program but on Thursdays it was Dermot Murnaghan whilst Trevor did the Tonight show.

In 2015, the 'ITV News at (X)' branding was replaced by the old 'the ITV (X) News' (except 'News at Ten')
