Granada Closedown - Charles Foster - 29th October 1985
No less than four in-vision spots for Charles during this closedown! I seem to remember that the final programme had finished early as the network had managed to miss a whole part of it out, so Granada had to fill with a Public Information Film and music video to avoid closing down too early (before 00:15?). Does anyone have any further info, or know what the 'Tinseltown' prog/movie was, without me doing some further research?

Absolutely loved Granada TV. I wish we could go back in time to our local independent television stations.
These voices bring back memories though I wasn't allowed to stay up late enough to watch closedown back then!
That wonderful.closedown music encouraging you to tune into your local radio station when you switch off the tv.
Loving all these Granada clips, bring back so many memories, :)
RIP Charles Foster...sleep well, sleep soundly

@@ijmanchester I'm so sorry to hear that. My thoughts are with Meg and family.
I miss Granada continuity so much😢
sounds like Jim Pope doing the trailers for the next day
Good old Charles Foster. A fantastic...warm...homely TV presenter from my childhood, sadly from a bygone age...I remember my parents saying: | "Right...Bedtime now, TV's finished"...And I wouldn't go till it went..."BEEEEEEEEP!"....I've only just found out Charles Foster sadly passed away in February aged 91....
great memories thank you
Knew Id find him eventually. Remember this man well.
Chuck F shutting up shop once again. One of the nicest voices on Granada, very soothing. Do you have any Granada closedowns with any of the other announcers?

Hi there
Public Info Film was a memorable one- where the boy crosses road with his impatient mum and dad - and ''nearly ends up as mincemeat....it was Dad..in his new car''
0:36 - That's the wrong breed of dog, and that's not Bob Saget! (Yeah, I know this is a different Full House.) The original British series did eventually air in the US in syndication, but by then the more famous American family sitcom also entitled Full House had premiered, so it was renamed Mixed Doubles in the US so as to avoid confusion.
When the world was a much simpler place at least it seemed so...
I'd love a clean version of the closedown music for a radio show I'd like to do in the future

And now RIP to Charles Foster.
Don't like 24h television, it's just a dead zone for rubbish. Charles Foster was a nice announcer
I wonder what's happened to his wife meg foster she plays pearl in emmerdale and played Eunice in coronation Street
