I think the penalty system should be scrapped entirely. Iracings penalty/report system is 10x better in every way. The penalty system and dirty drivers on gt7 are the reason i do not race sport mode.

I played the game again for the 1st time in about 3 months the other day. Got wiped out on the straight at spa twice. I don't think I'll bother playing again. If they add a single player quest or something I might, but online, nah.

Kimi is merely playing to the rules of the game. All of these dirty tactics are legal if left unpunished. Ironically it is all of us "clean" drivers that are playing the game wrong. That said I am massively disappointed to see Polyphony does not care about fixing this problem.

He doesn't work for them. Knowing the penalty system doesn't necessarily mean he's associated with them. He may just be rubbing the penalty system in their faces since they don't make changes. He's clearly a racing troll. If it was a matter of getting data from him, well, they have terrabytes of it by now. And if he is working for them, why are they allowing him to continue to ruin months and months of races for their customers? What kind of an a-hole project would that be? I'm not saying it's beyond them, just unlikely because it requires interest and effort. They seem to have neither in supply.

Agreed, just wanted to comment in a similar way. Every (I GUESS) software company pushes their product through various stages, from the early drafts to the developers and testers, even before they even think about the roll-out. This applies to updates as well. I mean, when they change BoP and physics, they do it offline. Why should they test the penalty system online? And making the customership angry? Even if only 7 to 12% (can't remember the figures, sorry) play online, why would you make them angry? Don't get me wrong, if this was click-bait, then it worked.

The worst is ramming in the turns, and people divebombing and pushing you wide. Or letting you pass then ramming you at an angle of turning, then spinning you out. I’ve actually had clean races with Kimi. And I thank him afterwards.

I just watched a video of Kimi-Velocini running clean. I believe it was against someone by the likes of "Mr. Nice" or something? I was dumbfounded, considering all the dirty driving videos of him. Hell I thought there was a glitch in the MATRIX or something...

Theres only 1 Kimi, and that is the Iceman 😂

He's just a standard troll IMO. I haven't seen anything from videos or experiences in races with him that doesn't make me think he's simply getting his kicks ruining other people's fun. If PD were organised enough to have people stress-testing the penalty system, don't you think we'd have seen more rapid/any tangible improvements in it? Rather than him being evidence of PD testing their own system, he's really just evidence that they don't. Kimi has worked out that their penalty system says approaching the game in this way is acceptable so he just carries on having *his* kind of fun at our expense.

Not with that livery. As an attorney i would never advise my corporate client to ruin a paying customer race without a disclaimer and especially with the distasteful and misogynistic liveries. Cmon man hehe😊

Kimi is just one driver with some serious notoriety, and this obviously drives him, however; there are so many other Kimi wannabe's in the daily races. I don't bother with dailies because of this, so, you are right, the penalty system is in favour of dirty drivers who know how to avoid penalties and ruin a good race. Not just Kimi.

Sport mode is brutal. I’m in b lobbies and people spin me out all the time and there goes my clean race. I think it’s bs and I stop playing the game out of pure frustration and go play nfs or trackmania

The pay for sport mode is even worse

I have noticed many changes through the penalties. I had a pause for about 9 months. And before that. You could bump, get a pen and that was pretty much it. Now, even minor contact also affects your SR, not always a pen with it bur Sr still affected where it wasn't before. So they are constantly changing it.

I'm a father of 3 who has been playing GT since the beginning and it's been a big part of my life for over 25 years. It's something I have a big passion for. I really like Sport Mode and the thrill of the Manufacturers/Nations cup series. Now, being a father of 3 with commitments and career, I have very little time to enjoy the game. Going into the Manufacturers/Nations, I probably get only 1 or 2 timeslots to do a full Quali/Race so when we get these people who ruin people's races, it's a huge frustration. You practice the car and circuit, get a good quali, then get rammed on the first lap so what is the point? These games are for people with time to burn. The idiots need banning.

I hate people who side ram when you try make an overtake

THere's no way they would employ a person to join live races and infuriate the people that purchased and enjoy the game. If that was true, its even more reason to stop playing this game

The day we’ll all realise that PD has no interest in creating a SIM, but leaving GT7 exactly as it is, ie an arcade racing “video-game” - we are all going to live happily ever after… plenty of SIMs out there, GT7 ain’t one… (the fact that GT7 it’s not available on PC, have you ever wondered why?!)

There definetely has to be done something about the Penalty System, no doubt about it.

I no longer run daily races because of the crap that goes on. I only run the big events and make sure I race the early race times. I think once a driver drives a race and see that they are causing issues ghost them during the race and then band them for 24hrs of online racing. Then if they keep doing it over and over Band them for a month or more.

You cant ban someone from playing a game they own (pysical disc) and to separate the physicals from digital (you NEVER own digital) is too hard and unfair.

Absolute joke of a system. Getting rammed off the track to last place, getting penalised for someone ramming into me, often these issues go for multiple sessions, greatly impacting on my DR, what's the point? Have considered moving to ACC.

I've never noticed the helmet turning to look at other cars like it does on Kimi's car before. It looks weird!

Testing the penalty system would only make sense if he logged in, did a few crashes and then logged out. But he's doing it again and again and nothing ever changes.

They do this in dev kits with controlled sequences, not online with randoms. This is the stupidest thing this guy has ever said, and thats a stretch.

I have always wondered why is he still an A+ driver, normally he should have been resetted 1 million times, and we all know how long it takes to get back upto A+🤷‍♂️

This weeks Spa race of which I have watched and raced in and I have received penalties for infringements, that other people did not get, even though the incident itself was exactly the same. Like being rammed for making a clean pass on someone and forced off track, or passing someone who was wide on the corner and had just been passed, they did not like that and rammed me on the opposite side of the track and I got pinged for colliding with a car, 3 seconds, how exactly does that work, because it makes no sense to me. That is one of many reasons why I hate the game now.

They should put sophie in charge of penalties 😮😢😅😊

It would explain a lot if that were so. I was against him in a B lobby and I guess he needed to get back to A+ and had a dream of a race. No contacts at all.

There is only one problem with this theory. It would suggest that PD is ok with ruining players DR and SR in the name of testing. A questionable practise.

Love how your driver rating and sportsmanship go wooden still when you get rammed when you’re avoiding in traffic management. Also, getting penalties when you rammed still. Online sucks.

Sometimes Kimi's pilot's head turns in the side where he attacks. Is that VR2? Is VR2 displaying the pilot's head turning?

They need to start doing temporary bans for racers like Kimi and Momoz. I think if you have more than 3 forcing others of the track penalties in one race you should get a 2 day ban.

Oh he's definately testing the penalty system, I'm doubtful it's on PD's behalf though. If so imagine people's reactions!

No way that's true. Kimi is just a dirty driver showing everyone what a joke the penalty system is. polyphony wouldn't use Kimi to collect data and ruin other players racers. I really think that polyphony don't have an answer for the penalty system and can't make it work fair and consistently. I wouldn't even think is even possible. There has been times where I've come around the corner hit a car bt accident that lost control and I'm the one that gets the penalty. And then yiu have times where your pushed into a wall or off the track and no penalty is given.

If pd wanted to do this surely they'd do it in the lower lobbies. D lobbies certainly test the penalty system!

Surely, PD want people to pay to do online races? Therefore, why are they allowing Kimi to make paying customers give up and walk away? It doesn't make business sense. If it was a competitor doing it, surely they could ban the account? None of it makes sense.

He shouldn't get any penalties because at the time what he did hasn't broken the rules of the games system, or else it would have given him a penalty. Most "clean" drivers apply driving rules to themselves that are not coded into the game. He's simply playing the game within the rules. Its the game they made. It's how it works at that time. He didn't do anything wrong. IT IS A CRASH EM UP DERBY GAME because there are no rules against it. Jist because it has pro cars and races doesn't mean it's a pro game with pro driving rules.

Listen I seen this guy hit the hang break on an apex to hit a car on the outside and took him out which will tell you this guy is really good at this game

if they don't sort out the penalty system then people will get fed up and race elsewhere,the game is fabulous great fantastic etc BUT it's not perfect! It's work in progress,my opinion is WATCH THIS SPACE! it's not a quick fix! respect Kireth keep up the the good work

Being a troll isn't obvious enough

I dislike how a pit lane penalty is more severe than a ram or punt sometimes. 3 secs for a pit lane. Why cant its be .5 secs. I accidentally hit someone in the back and got a 2 sec which I deserve but 3 secs for a pit lane violation. Punts should 10 secs if I had a say. I mean the game can tell the size of an impact right? Punts are violent and intentional.

How did you obtain all these replays unless YOU are actually Kimi ? 😮

I don't believe it. There is no reason to have him do this in high ranked races and messing up ranks when it would be just as effective in lower ranked races. Polyphonic would be testing this in a closed lobby, in house. This is not how companies test systems, by fucking over the customers.

Been playing since launch, never met the guy and can you guess why? I don’t do sport mode for obvious reasons, its literally the last trophy i need for a plat. I hate dirty driving, i hate sport mode for it. And now i hate this kimi guy too 😂 ty

I really do not think he's a PD Penalty Tester. My main thought process of this is that most of his liveries, some would find offensive, especially parents of young children. I just don't see it, but with PD, who the hell knows? Most epic troll ever in a video game if true!

This HAS to be a joke. Or at the very least a weak attempt at satire. PD doesn't have him testing anything. They just don't give a rat's ass about punishing people like him because it would negatively effect the player count on a game that many are already disappointed with.

Imagine an online GT world with perfect fair racing rooms and also rooms where you can do that sort of stuff divide it and stop it happening polyphony. If bans need to come in for intentionally ruining races to win then so be it

Trying to investigate this absolute mystery James, like I did with Momoz!

I have still to see anybody address the changes made to the McLaren F1 in GT7. Mine used to be under 1000kgs after weight reduction. It's now 1137 and no weight reduction now possible for it. So they reverted the weight reduction yet the money spent on the reduction has simply been spunked into oblivion. Tried to ask this shitkicking company why bit didn't get a response. Yet another reason why I stopped playing this piss stain of game.

This explains a lot 🤔

So, that must mean that there are multiple instances of Kimi Velocini across the whole World's GT servers. Kimi Velocini must be an AI then.
