Bridges will never be crossed regarding race relations if groups of people are either perpetually victimized or exalted. This film does neither and it's wonderful.

This is such a great film … it’s more relevant today than it was when released.
This movie is a good example of being a man and positive masculinity. Also, I love the little theme of family and community this movie represents well.
Excellent analysis. And I think you are correct: This film could not comfortably coexist with current woke sensibilities. Subbed.
