As a Fallen London player, it’s really cool to see echoes of that in Cultist Sim. Specifically the term “Delicious Friend” and the general concept of an ever hungry thing being associated with the number seven (Seeking Mr.Eaten’s Name).

AK mentions his past work with fallen London in one of the more recent book of hours posts on Steam - unfortunately the sunless series of games didn’t really strike a chord with me but I did still find the story surrounding them quite interesting

Fallen London is great. I played it from '10 to '15, then lost my password. Never bothered to "win" the game. Was too busy just amblin' around.

These lore dives are inspiring, I’m tempted to do a lore-centric playthrough of Book Of Hours now

Excellent work! Do you think you'll make videos covering the new aspects from book of hours (Scale, Sky, Moon, Nectar), or just the eight from cultsim (or nine, if you count Rose as the same as Secret Histories)?

It’s tough, my expectation is that “Secret Histories” won’t have much meat by itself since there is just not a lot to talk about regarding it - whether that means that I would instead do a video about the five new powers combined or separate videos for each one is something I won’t be sure about until I start writing about one of them. In general I feel that the new powers are not as fleshed out as the aspects from Cult Sim, and we don’t get many stories relating to them since the Librarians are always very holistic in their approach to the invisible arts. That being said, I don’t expect it’ll be that long before I either have to make a decision or start making videos that are more than just Lore overviews

Grail was my first ascention - very fun path.

Nice Videos, from the two big Cultist Lore video chanels a bit more deep dived and "fully" explained. But neat videos nevertheless. Just maybe get something for the backround noise of your microphone. Even though you did a good job eliminating it, it is still noticable. But audio stuff is a part of IT that is like black magic to me, five different solutions for one problem and all are correct

Interesting, I haven’t seen any other channels doing what I’ve done, what are they called? Background noise is a difficult one - I’m not trained in any kind of audio engineering and I’m very against spending any money on KZread since I’m confident I won’t be making a single cent from it. I did spend a lot of time cleaning up the audio in the ways I could, but if you can point me towards any good tutorials (or anything else) I would appreciate it

@@HandsomeLib @aditopian is the other guy that made some good cultist lore videos. On the audio question, yeah that is something I have also my problems in the few projects I have done, sadly not much I can say on it and not much I know. I could go and ask some sound people I know, at the moment my best guess would as good as any sadly. It is appreciated by me how much time goes into cleaning audio, truly. Just wanted to let you know there is some left that can be noticable, but it is not "horrible", after the first two or three videos I tuned it out.

Appreciate your lore videos! Looking forward to those that remain :)

7:55 while it possible that he refers to the Forge here, it’s much more likely it the ant mother he tells us about. (If i recall, we do get a knock lore out of the interaction) Not to mention him being a name under the god from blood would hamper knowing about gods from light before they became that (if there even a before for them)

Using any of the Threshers of Thoughts produced Knock Lore, not only Ezeem. It would also have known about the FoD since she became an hour in the same event as the RG, I don’t see how Ezeem wouldn’t have known. That being said, since it specifically says “Her arms were fewer” then you could well be right, the Mother of Ants being a God from Flesh would make a lot more sense in terms of meeting a Name pre-ascension

He has an interesting position, but like many revolutionaries I think it’s a shortsighted one. I do like it when raiding the Gwaer Inn vault, where it’s vaguely implied Julian is a fan of naughty material stored there

Because men are rare within the Sisterhood of the Knot and are probably not highly valued within the organization. The grail sect of the Sisterhood would venerate birth, which explains that dynamic. So, to them, a man overcoming his limitations to firstly be capable of birth (grail ascension) and having the reborn body be female would be considered extraordinary.

I personally like Crosley, as far as I understand it, he hates the Hours, and I feel likewise

I’m interested as to what JC’s ideal setup for the Mansus really would be. I think there’s limited evidence that he’s seeking a return of Gods From Stone (specifically one named Snow), but we don’t have much information about it afaik

@@HandsomeLib I’d personally like a Mansus of black nephrite, the perfect city is the one unbuilt. I don’t feel that J.C. would want the gods from stone, they’re just an older flavor of tyrant, especially The Wheel, that damn ceaseless wheel.

Thank you - the purpose of it is so that there’s something on the screen rather than the background, and for some of the more abstract explanations there isn’t anything in-game that could be used for it. I experimented with stock photos and using more memes but in my opinion it threw off the tone of the sections I would have used them in quite severely

Also quick correction, Ezeem is referred to with It/It's pronouns, not He/Him. This is quite consistent iirc.
