The Graham Norton Show should be required viewing for all American talk show hosts. The way he sets up the guests and lets them be the focal point without constantly interrupting them is so refreshing.
The storytelling is brilliantly funny... the part when he says "oh no, you loser, such a low point" it gets me everytime.
I've taught in a school with hearing impaired kids, and that microphone thing really does happen all the time. It's so easy to forget you're wearing them, it happened to me more than once - not quite as embarrassing as Greg's case, since I never wore my mother's undies...

I like to think that Ryan and Greg kept in touch after this.
I love how he starts the story off kind of awkward, shy, and seemingly scatterbrained. Crowe is obviously skeptical. And then he picks up steam and, by the end, all the shaggy dog loose threads come together for just an awesome finish. Everyone busts a gut, including Crowe. Bravo!

He's got great timing, doesn't he? But then a good comedian would. But in addition, quite the masterful way of stretching the story while keeping the suspense to the end, and the the audience on the edge of their seats. And then that nugget at the end to seal it-when everyone thought the story was over. 👏👏
“Something’s not RIGHT”, is when I begin to lose it!😂😂😂😂
I've just watched this three times in a row, and god knows how many times in total. Greg's delivery is amazing but Gosling's uncontrolled laughter is amazing. OH.MY.GOSH. If they were to ever do a live action version/continuation of that movie/its characters (not that they'd need to), they HAVE TO USE GREG DAVIES. He is not only one of the funniest men alive, he is also the physical incarnation of that character!
Those devices that Greg is referring to were often called "radio links". The teacher would wear a microphone and transmitter, and the pupil would wear a receiver. This meant the hearing impaired kid could hear the teacher much more clearly. I often experienced things like the teachers going to the toilet, talking to staff members, etc. If you could recognise the squeak of the doors that the teacher was going through, you could warn the other kids in the classroom (who were messing around while the teacher was away) that the teacher was coming, and everyone would be sitting quietly like little angels when the teacher came back into the classroom. :)
Three minutes one of the funniest stories ever told on this show - I have watched this over and over, it's like my go-to antidepressant 💜
I have lost count on the number of times i have watched this.
Greg Davies can tell a story!!! Hilarious!! And watching Ryan Gosling lose the plot was awesome!! This was one of Graham's best couches of guests!!
This is why British humour is the best sense of humour in the world

I've watched this so many times over the years and again today, just reading the comments once again and still burst out laughing at you typing "On no not this"!!! Just shows how fantasticly delivered this is.
1:36 Ryan started laughing here ..
Leave it to Graham Norton to have the local flavor guest tell the funniest story during an evening of big Hollywood guests. Davies is brilliant. Graham is even more so. Love this show.
That is the most beautiful smile from Jodie and no one mention it.
Everytime I see this one I'm literally crying with laughter. Even funnier when Ryan is losing it. I'm laughing with Ryan.
I love how he questions how good the story is at the start but in the end it turns out to be one of the funniest stories told on the couch!!!

I am ashamed to admit I have watched this video 47 times.
whenever i am extremely sad and exhausted with life i just rewatch this video to see Ryan Gosling's genuine laughter and I feel so much better. This has become my comfort video. 😁
This couch is looking pretty great! Love Jodie Foster she's such an amazing actress!😊Silence of the Lambs is a fab movie

I've been a fan since I first saw her in The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, made when she was 13. I've enjoyed every movie I've seen her in since.
It's Greg's buildup matched by Ryan's escalating laughter for me. I love how he just can't contain it‼️💞
Lost count of how many times I've seen this and it never gets old.
Should have went on the Red Chair.

Ryan Goslings reaction is priceless 😃😃😃😃
I really love the way Ryan was laughing his lungs out and at the end makes a "I dont mind" face. 😂😂
Greg Davies is such a treasure.
That's the most brilliant, embarrassing story I've ever heard.
I come back to this whenever I need a laugh
I come back to this every few months.
I don't even know how many times I've watched this, but I still laugh everytime 😂
@2:26 When Greg realises how well his story went down, he looks like a pleased little boy... so cute!

Ryan Gosling is a master of knowing the punchline. If you look at him, when Greg mentions the hearing impaired department, he knew this was going somewhere.
He is a great story teller, the main talent a comedian needs to have is good delivery and greg absolutely nailed it
That moment when Ryan Gosling (a tall guy) looks like a dwarf near to Greg Davies, weird isn't it :P

Russel: No one can break me. Greg: Hold my beer.

Is Ryan crying or laughing?? 🤣🤣I love it when people laugh from their hearts... absolutely forgetting about their surroundings...❤️ Ryan's laugh throughout is hilarious!! He is destroyed!! 😹😹😹Nice story and delivery too Mr.Greg Davies!! 🤣🤣🤣
