Graham Chapman - Gee, I'm Gonna Miss You
Музыка
British born, Brisbane, Australia based singer Graham Chapman (born 1949) (not to be confused with the British comic actor of Monty Python fame) recorded 8 singles between 1966-1971, the first 2 on Kommotion are now highly collectable among beat/garage fans, & the rest appeared on EMI's Columbia & HMV labels. His biggest hit, "Gee, I'm Gonna Miss You" was his first for EMI & he scored himself a hometown #1 with this one which also reached the Sydney Top 20 in April 1968. This is a live clip of the fresh faced Graham giving a fine performance in Nth Qld backed by Col Joye's Joy Boys later that same year. By the mid 70's Graham was living in New Zealand & joined Salty Dogg, who became quite a successful Auckland based band. Salty Dogg released 2 albums & 4 singles on Parlophone/EMI in 1976 & 1977. By the 80's Graham was back in Sydney where he worked in the clubs for many years. Sadly Graham passed away in 2009 at the relatively young age of 60

Thank you all for your kind comments. My Dad loved to sing and loved life. It's so nice to see that his music still resonates with ppl. He passed away 13 years ago now. Gone far too soon...

I met your father in 1966 when he was launching "Baby Let Your Hair Down" at the Exhibition Building in Melbourne. I was visiting from Adelaide. We had a lovely chat over lunch and I bought the single, which he autographed. It has always been my prized possession.

Great song!
I actually have his single in my collection. I used to work on radio as a DJ and so many older listeners used to think that I was actually him. RIP Graham an amazing voice, never met you but played your music and we are also of the same name even spelt the same way :)
Boy from Brisbane. Yes brilliant!!!
Fabulous clip! Fabulous song & performance. Graham should have been a much bigger name. I wasn't aware till now that he had passed away. RIP Graham. Loved your work!

Great song. I first heard this in the late 70's. It's a pity it wasn't more well known. Is there another version that is played at a slightly faster tempo?
