This was recorded at some point in the very early 2000s as part of a special, just before he was fully removed. I remember they scaled his role back and cut all of his spoken lines at first. In the original he had some real zingers for Homer, and a whole scene where he accidentally ruins a picture by pulling out Maggie's pacifier. In this version he's still there but doesn't really contribute much, which I think was the idea. It made it easier to fully cut him shortly after.

I was very young when the shorts first aired, but I do remember it that way. I thought that perhaps I had him confused with Gumbly. It was a long time ago and it's an easy mistake to make.

Graggle is the only character on Simpsons that was able to make me cry. His episode when he stopped Barney from dying of alcohol poisoning moved me to tears, because I grew up in a family of alcoholics, and the episode really hit close to home... I wish I had a Graggle in my life growing up. If it wasn't for Graggle, my neighborhood never would have collectively given up all the hard drugs that were ruining the place. The episode where Graggle became Graggle Man then said "it's Graggleing time!", then proceed to push all the drug dealers out of Springfield was so inspiring. They even started saying "It's Graggleing time!" when fighting dealers. Still can't believe the Graggle 3D beat-em-up was canceled in favor of Simpsons Hit and Run. Like don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but we never got a Graggle game...

@@dennisholmgren4107 I believe Graggle was an archangel of some sort, sent down to Springfield (specifically) to keep everyone safe, especially the Simpsons as they were more or less, a dysfunctional but loving family at times, and to shape Springfield into the town that now is a huge part of our childhood. And after that he “disappeared” as his deeds in this nostalgic town (as an angel) were done. I’d like to think this theory is canon, instead of simply “missing a voice-actor” etc. your reply is highly inspiring btw.

If you're going to fake VHS, do it right. I suggest looking at actual VHS footage and or buying an actual VCR for reference. The blue screen never has interference or tracking information. The Blue screen is a product of the VCR, not the VHS tape. So no matter how damaged the VHS tape is, the VCR's Blue screen will always be perfect with no interference, distortion, or noise of any kind. There is also never any tracking on the Blue screen because again, it isn't the tape. The VCR's tracking only kicks in once the image on the tape is actually being read by the sensors. Lastly, the black line would typically be found on the left side of screen, not the right. It would also more accurately be seen as a dark green color, not black. Cool video though.

Uh... yeah? All the simpsons are edited in front of the background. They're called "characters". Graggle just happens to be one.

Make another one

The only flaws are the lines on him being a little too clean, and the rest of the scene and characters having a slight shimmer and movement which he lacks. Besides that this is fantastic and if he was placed into a scene without the shimmer and cleaner lines from later in the series, he would fit right in.

Note: After being arrested, Graggle was turned into a magnet wooden letter due to the production of Harley’s Letter Adventures. And that’s why you never see him again. (or you never see him at all.)

@@captainalex8003 graggle is real, he came from the multiverse onto the show, the animators didn't put him there but he was there anyway, if he wasn't there it would have distrupted a canon event.

This wouldve been a lot more convincing if they matched Graggle's movement to the original video. Its especially noticeable in the first few second where the footage has a slight shake, yet the edited in Graggle stays completely still and looks way outta place. Also, Ive been binging on the Simpsons since I was a kids and before it was a standalone show. Still do daily to this day.I can confirm, Graggle was never a thing.
