the fight choreography in here is fantastic! the hell to your doorstep (reprise) is one of my favorite moments and it's a dang shame we don't have an english version of it. happy to see another version of the actual scene out there!

Простите, что не совсем в тему, но не поделитесь, а на что снимаете? Отличное соотношение качества+приближения, сразу задалась вопросом :)

This seems so much more violent than the swordfight in the German version! Here they are really getting at each other and I think both of them are pretty bruised after the show. Is the show much different than the original? Because here in this scene, except for the swordfight, Mondego tries to harm Mercedes at the end and is killed by Albert and ,if my Russian is still not that bad, Mercedes reveals that Monte Christo is in fact his father, right? Are there many differences throughout the whole musical? :)

It's been two years but in case you're still interested :) Or someone who checks comments. There are some differences, I'll try to list chronologically. There's no Napoleon in the openning scene (but there was the dying captain) but there is a little scene with younger Abbé Faria. The pirate ship scene is a bit different: Luisa appears after Dantès' and Jacopo's fight (and there are no more women on the ship except her). And the musical number is different: there is a new rap-part in it. As far as I know Frank Wildhorn wrote some new episodes specially for our theater (for example the reprise of "Every day a little death" (sung by Albert, Mercédès and Valentine while the two of them are trying to convince the boy in renouncing to challenge Monte-Cristo) and of "That's what they say", placed later the events of their duel, after the news of Mondego, Danglars and Villefort's downfall breaks among Paris’ upper class.) There is no courtisans' scene with "Dance the tarantella", this song plays only on the carnival at the beginning of the 2nd act. After Mercédès' song moving set hides her (so she can take part in later scene in the song), Jacopo tells Dantès about everyone and "Hell to your doorstep" starts. After the carnival when Dantès sees Luisa for the last time, he kisses her. In the "The Trap/Too Much Is Never Enough" Dantès stays till the end. Albert has a wordless appearing for the brief second trying to stop him. Dantès throws him off the stage. After the song Dantès shows Mondego, Danglars and Villefort the marked numder on his chest, they recognise him. Danglars and Villefort shoot themselves and Mondego lies almost naked on the ground with creditors(?) standing upon him. Dantès defiantly stops creditors from shooting Mondego, throws him his last payment showing he's in control and leaves. Mondego stays kneeled alone at the stage clutching his clothes to his chest and sings the reprise of "The Trap" saying that Dantès' life is a lie and he wants to return him to the Château d'If. Then plays the the reprise of "Every day a little death" I mentioned earlier. "Pretty lies" isn't in the play. And there is no scene with Mercédès' and Dantès' conversation. Albert leaves for the duel, Valentine follows him. Mercédès tries to follow them but Mondego returns home and stops her, pusing her to the ground. She reveals that Albert is Dantès' son. Mondego screams that he knew all this time and leaves. Mercédès sings "All this time" and leaves too. And yes at the beginning of the scene in this video Mercédès reveals Dantès that he is Albert's father. Mondego appears. After the fight Albert is shocked and thinks he killed his father. Mercédès says that his father is alive. Father and son hug but Albert is still shocked. They have the dialog: - My father is the count of Monte-Cristo... - No, it was Edmond Dantès. Albert leaves the stage, Dantès tries too but Mercédès stops him and after the "I will be there" reprise everything ends. And of course everything is staged different (I think it shows in the video). The play is in entirely in the different style from the costumes to the set. I hope I've answered your question :)
