hey, thank you so much two days ago was my moving up ceremony and I became a senior of high school. I tried to look up senior of high school party ideas. But I could not find one so I guess I’m gonna do the same idea as you.

I threw two parties last summer, both on a budget. Our wedding party in the park, and a friend's baby shower. The wedding was over 150 people, and I managed to do it for $1000. The baby shower was 60 people, for $500. Dick's Restaurant Supply in Seattle sells chaffing dishes for $50. Granted, not as nice as yours :), but great for someone on a budget. They also sold disposable chaffing dishes for about $10. I also got disposable beverage containers for lemon drops and margaritas (great minds think alike), but I snagged them from a restaurant in my neighborhood that does catering. You're right that it makes a world of difference if you want to enjoy your own party. The baby shower was a taco bar, and I couldn't agree more, next time I would stick to one meat. I did chicken, pulled pork, and a squash/pepper filling. Most of the veggie filling got tossed (I overestimated the needs of vegetarians), and the parents to be had bags of chicken in their freezer for 6 months. It's interesting how much I learn every time I take on a task like that. One of these days I'm hoping to make it look as smooth as you do. -Kelly Kate

Mark Wissing Kelly Kate, you are a rockstar! That is amazing throwing a wedding for under $1000! Great to know about the chaffing dishes. I figured I have three kids graduation parties, plus parties every summer..... usually a minimum of 4 .... so it ends up being cheaper to buy some vs. the disposable ones. Great minds do think alike! Margaritas and lemon drops! I wish I had your restaurant connections. It’s awesome you are able to borrow things for parties, makes it nice and less expensive for sure. When you have the right gear it really does make it so you can actually enjoy the party too.:) I would love to see some of your party setup pictures! It’s always fun to see how others arrange all of the food and such. Thanks for all of the fabulous tips!

Thanks so much, my daughter graduates virtually on May 20 from high school, due to corona. I never thought about the inflatable ice holders. Such a nice idea.

This is a great video! So many are trying to figure out how to celebrate their graduates during this difficult time. The party looked great, you definitely have a gift! Also- that view😍 what a beautiful place to live!! It’s so great you thought of everyone’s diet needs and provided options. That’s so nice of you!

What a great party!! I am really struggling with Covid I will have to modify the menu and really every aspect of the party. It really is making me sad but I don’t want my daughter to miss out on anything else.

How do the tortillas do heating them that way? Do the get soggy or stick together? Did you preheat them any before? Thank you so much!

I didn’t preheat them before I put them in the chaffing dish. If I remember correctly they were all perfect during the majority of the party, but at the very end of the night I think some of them that were leftover were stuck together. I hope this helps.:)

Where did you get the clear glass vases for the flowers?

The flank steak, did you use a slow cooker or how did you cook it?

We grilled all of the meat and then cut it up.

How did you batch cook your rice? Rice steamer? Stove top?

I had most of the food inside and we didn’t have a lot of flies.
