Read everything you can about Peyton ("Sweetness"). Put the books away. Write a thesis and outline your paper without looking at books. Write your paper without looking at books. After first draft is written, go to books and find facts and quotes to support your points.

:) I really meant it! I have to write 2 research papers for my Composition Class...I had no idea really how to do the outline.

This helped out so much, I am starting my criminal justice masters thesis and this layout would work great for that as well.

Boop--I know you meant it. Keep in mind that this video was done for graduate students doing research papers in grad school. On your comp project, read all your sources first, take notes, put them all away, and then right an outline for an essay based on your opinions and conclusions. That way, the writing will have your structure and the sources will be only for support of your conclusions.

Is it me or someone else may have encountered the same problem while working on papers, like whenever I'm reading too much of the related articles I tend to lose my trials even more, instead I would be more inclined to lean towards their structures, in the sense that many published articles are very logically persuasive and excellent elaborated. I hope you could understand me and offer me some suggestions, thank you! btw, it really is a great guidance video.

Corrin--for the synthesis essay, your teacher could mean either a literature review or argument synthesis. I would have to see the assignment instructions. But a literature review is often called a synthesis.

Stephanie--in your introduction, you briefly (1-2 sentences) tell the reader what type of research you carried out. You answer the question: What did you do? Did you try to answer a research question, did you experiment, did you conduct a survey? You would write, "This project examined recent studies about the environmental causes of autism." Your arguments are your main points that you use to prove your thesis. Hope that helps.
