The Rangers roster right now, as is, can win 85-90 games. It all depends on health. Everybody other than Leody Taveras and Jake Odorizzi is healthy now so let’s hope it stays that way

My rebuttal to your grade for the Braves: 1. Catcher defense is going to be much more important because of the rule changes. I'm surprised people don't bring up the connection between this trade and the rule change more often. 2. We didn't just trade for Murphy. We extended him and got another great deal on a good young player. 3. Ozuna's numbers got a lot better toward the end of the 2022 season, and he tore it up in spring training, and we have like 5 other guys who can fill in if he falters, so to call it a 'massive hole' is a little much. 4. We're already stacked at most positions, so we didn't really have a lot of huge needs to address. I feel like your grading system should take that into account. My grade for the Braves offseason: A-. I would've liked to see them trade for Bryan Reynolds, but I don't think the Pirates are very impressed with our farm system at this point. Plus, even if they were willing to clean out our minors, I wouldn't want us to have zero prospects, so can't really fault them for not making that trade happen.

As a Braves fan I give them a B. I agree with most of your assessment. The left field issue absolutely needs addressing as I have major issues with ozuna. A- is a little much

I think yall are gonna be pleasantly surprised at the production we get out of left field this year. This excludes Fuzzy of course because I get the feeling he’s not so fond of our team.

Cardinals have a loaded farm system and they have starters down there that are 1 year away to being in the majors. You discount what the Cardinals have in the minors to them having bad rotation. Also, one SS will be probably be called up mid season name Masyn Winn.

Interesting bunch of grades. I wonder how the new rules are going to affect the grades, bigger bases will bring back the stolen base part of the game for certain. Judging from ST I think enforcement of the pitch clock will speed up the games though maybe with an ejection here and there. I hate the runner on 2nd rule for extra innings though, feels like cheating to me.

The braves got all their extensions done during the season so they didn’t need to do much in the off-season besides filling in for shortstop which they were gonna go with Grissom but I guess he’ll get the call later

A lack of moves does NOT equate to a bad offseason, even though it gives you less stuff to create content about. Sometimes the best moves are the ones that don’t happen. Example- you are TOO hard on Cleveland… signed Bell, signed Zunino, spent $100m on Gimenez and extended Stephen. All so they checked off all their important boxes WHILE hanging on to all their exceptional prospects. That’s an A. Filled their only two glaring holes with great FAs (C, 1B) and extended their most pressing core player with Gimenez and bought out some FA years for their best setup guy. That’s a A- my man…

@@marshimeak1972 The Redsox were never gonna offer a 11 yr contract to a 30 year old. And if you look at contracts they offered in the last 8 years story is the better one vs Ramirez and Sandoval two contracts BOSTON just finished paying off

Preller likes to trade for pitchers. Ohtani, Nola, Burnes, Fried, and Urias are all free agents in 2024 or 2025 and their teams will likely hear out trade offers. Id say its pretty likely one of them will be a Padre by the deadline if our current staff isn't healthy and performing.

Heaney has yet to have that put it all together big year after bouncing around all over the place. Has had some good effective stretches but always gets hurt.

Calling Julian Merryweather a "workhorse out of the pen" for the Blue Jays is definitely incorrect. Dude threw a total of 52.2 innings over 3 seasons to a 5.64 ERA. He just wasn't that good and couldn't stay healthy.

One post season move a team made that made one of the hugest impacts ever was when NY signed Reggie from '77-'81. 3 world series in his 5 years with 4 post seasons.

Dude this is the new nhl, you have a team build to survive the season and make the playoffs but build for the playoffs three dominant starters closer set-up guy, and then a team that hits situationally, billy ball 2.0. against the best pitching...you're not playing 4 or 5 starters and you're not playing inept batting order or defenses. season with expanded playoffs should be play to get your team and see who's who for october

As a tigers fan, can I ask what you would have done this offseason? We were terrible, barley finished above the royals, regressed on all fronts, and the player we payed 23 mil a season hit bad, as well as the pitcher we gave 17 mil didn’t pitch for 2 months. Please explain how doing nothing, saving our budget and letting the youth play out is a bad thing. It’s what your beloved guardians have done for years.

It would be even more interesting if he made one based on their 40 man rosters. For example. Cleveland is around 8-10 based on the 26 man, but they’re top 2-3 based on the 40 man. Some teams use those 14 spots for AAAA players or reserve guys but some like Cleveland have 14 spots with young studs on the farm system and the extra 14 spots give a great view of where the team is going the next few seasons.

You have the Orioles a D because you were expecting a spending spree. If you know anything about the Orioles you would have known that no such thing is going to happen. Big money is only given to Orioles vets who have contributed to the team. They upgraded virtually every weak point.

Johnathan india tool 2b and rookie of year hurt last year. dad was mister Olympia and the two best ss prospects elly del la crux and evol marte from the mariners in castillo trade...both five toolers .plus thanks fuzzy for benson a five-tooler from guardians for outfield. and best catcher in league tyler stephenson. young no time and under control for years with 50 million budget in 2024. reds can spend 125 million. the kids work out you need to two corner ofers and 1b next year for the playoffs run. and 75 million to buy them in weak division.

You've obviously forgotten that Jeff Mathis was once a starting Catcher for many years on many teams. Hedges is better than Mathis.
