GRACE MUGABE: From a typing pool to first lady to nothing

Grace Mugabe was a former first lady of Zimbabwe. In this video, we look at her rise from humble beginnings and her life as the first lady.
Her husband Robert Mugabe is a man that needs no introduction, but to understand his legacy and 37-year rule of Zimbabwe, we need to dive deep into Grace Mugabe. The life she lived as the first lady reflects to some extent who Robert Mugabe really was.

@Massambula G Iam Smith was a great man. A legend. Declared independence and even though the country was embargoed all to hell, it made siginificant strides. Then later Mugabe did the same. He bought all the land from the white cishet male farmers and gave it to BIPOC people. Sadly the whites sabotaged the farms and all fell down. This is what colonialism does, and Smith booted the colonials.

This should also be a lesson to African leaders. The hospital where Mugabe took his last breath could easily have been in Harare or other cities in Zimbabwe but he didn't bother. The money blown by Grace alone could have been enough to build at least two such hospitals.. Same as Mobutu, same as Buhari of Nigeria today who flies to London for a common earache. The list is shameful.

Nigerians are the highest earning Migrants in the USA. I can go on and on Hilary Clinton's doctor is a Nigerian. So why can't Buhari use Nigerians??? They have the money to build the facilities and Nigeria has the skilled labour in excess.

He said he was given a bag full of cash and gold and never took a dime while helping them to cross the border. He was later called to Harare once he become the president and was given Zimbabwe citizenship and was rewarded immensely by the president.. Just goes to show you never know who you may help can change your life in the future.

In 1997 the Zim dollar lost it's value by more than 70% & the stock market by more than 80% after Mugabe ordered the Zim reserve Bank to print out $5b US dollars for the war veterans.

It isn't just African leadership. It happens all over the world. As recently as 2020/2021 in the UK billions of pounds of taxpayer money for PPE was corruptly awarded to the companies of 'friends' and 'associates' of the conservative party including a company in which the then health minister, Matt Hancock's aide and alleged mistress' brother held a senior position. The money was largely squandered as the PPE equipment was either never produced, was produced too late or was not fit for purpose and had to discarded. Whilst he was P.M. Boris Johnson was investigated over the improper use of government funds in the renovation of No.10 when he and his former mistress moved in. Conservative MPs have misused thousands of pounds of taxpayers money on things like a 'duck house', employing their own spouses etc etc. Not to mention all the cash for questions scandals over the decades. This doesn't excuse corruption in Africa, but it should make it pretty clear that politicians worldwide are largely of the same self-serving ilk.

As a young woman who got the opportuniy to rise to the top, she could have remembered who she was and where she came from. She could have used that platform to encouraged the youth, women and the beautiful people of Zimbabwe , to work hard . She could have inspired and motivated her people. As a young wife and loved, she had the power to use her status and help her husband do good for the country, and Mugabe loved her, he would have listened. But Madam, had hit a jackpot and sprinted to catwalks in Paris, London and New York for Guccis, Valentino , etc...Oh Grace Gucci, what you did to poor people , grabbing their land and displacing many. You and your husband rolled a beautiful country in mud and destroyed everything . I have no kind words for you... Beautiful people of Zimbabwe, we pray for you and you are hard working , intelligent, welcoming and we have faith in the new generation, you are working hard and you are on your way to making Zimbabwe shine again. Pray for us too . Sending love from Uganda.

@@marcusgenz4020 I am hoping you grew up in a home and they forgot to teach you , never to throw a stone in a bee hive ...Bad things happen in the world when good people look the other way and dont care . Now listen to yourself and weigh the brain floating in your skull ! Could it be that you grew up with a step mother, who beat you, accidentally cracking your skull and to cover up the hole , poured porridge in it got in the brain, fermenting it ? You are like a thief who when seen by the crowd raising an alarm , you negotiate a corner and join the crowd shouting , " thief , thief ..". It might be that you are one who munched on the loot that the Mugabes scooped from Zimbabweans . Shame on you and you should get your brain smoked out the stupidity embedded in it . You are exactly what the Kenyan Icon and legend, P.L.O. Lumumba said , " Some Africans are happy to elect a thief to office, as long as the thief is their own relative ,tribes man or from the same village , and they say , Yes, he / she is a thief , but he /she is our thief " ...!!! And one wonders why, with such mentality and brains like yours, we are still crawling behind nations that respect the laws . Can you imagine what Grace Gucci did happening in Norway , UK , Canada or South Korea ? You saw what the South Koreans did with the president . Many of us are fighting to stop this Evil acts, and you are here breathing life and adding firewood to a fire we are putting out. I think what you are implying here and thinking out loud is that if you Mr. Marcus got the opportunity , you would also loot . A thief always thinks other people are also thieves . This Grace you are stroking , is a Disgrace to Zimbabwe . She has hurt and ruined lives many generations of people and she is accountable for what she did , so dont try to smear this on to me or anyone else . Use your time to do something beneficial... plant trees instead of injecting ideas in your skull comparing me to a woman who disgraced her own people. I have a heart and not a hand that hurts . Has always happened. Names, locations, ethnicities change but many people around the world have essentially done the same for centuries. Some countries cover it up better, make it look more "civilized", but it's the same thing underneath. Poverty and deprivation often keeps the scope of evil low but no less evil. Give them power and wealth and there's no limit to how low humans can go. The only right government is God's government.

I know some of you may not like my comment, but it’s nothing but the truth. We all claim Mugabe loved Zimbabweans and Africa at large. If he did, why did you die in Singapore and not on African soil? Why did himself and his family lavish our money in The UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and others? Why did they hire foreigners to plan and cook for his daughters wedding? Let’s Wake Up and Build our Motherland. #WakeUpAfrica

Ohh great man who can prove he loves Africa please tell us all which Africa battle of independence did you fight in? Which African prison did the White imperialists throw you in and how many years did you serve? Which western country did you travel to and study then return and use what you understood against those that oppressed your people. Please educate us.
