@@Ecliptor. Life expectancy for a male in England is still another ~15 years after that. Potentially another 15+ if he continues to exercise and eat healthy. So it would be more accurate to say Josh is only about 1/3 of the way to death, not 1/2, or two more of his current lifetimes instead of just one.

It's 18 in the UK, and either the same or lower in almost every other country on the planet where alcohol isn't illegal. The US is a bizarre outlier with almost anything involving age restrictions.

@@Candlemancer I had a feeling that was the case. I legitimately don't get the 21 limit on that. You can vote, you can drive, you can literally die for your country as a soldier, but don't dare have a Bud Light yet.

@@UltimaKeyMaster beer and wine is 16 here in Germany. Man, I’ll never forget the eyes of those 2 exchange students from Iowa we had, once they heard that. We went “sightseeing” (read: walking around in the public access camping area) to a big festival that is in the area (that has police patrolling for safety, of course) and they looked so timid, nibbling on their beers, all out in public, for everyone (including police) to see. No paper bags or anything needed. Like 2 tribesmen visiting civilization. 😅

Luleå Institute of Technology has some really funny initiation rituals called Nolle-P (Zero Period basically, since they are not first-years yet) It has all the shape like it would be degrading and horrific, but instead it is a playact that everyone enters into voluntarily. When I had mine, one of the events was having to toss "objects" back and forth and try and catch them. First it was simply balls, then they added in condoms filled with mustard, then it was handfulls of cold spaghetti, cheese pizzas, balls of yarn and so on. Another activity was "Sardines" tag all over campus. Loads of fun!

I don't know what I expected. I am whelmed.

This was all triggered by the Golden Girls, reminding him of his crusty bashing youth.
