GR Yaris MoTeC plug-&-play Install to become World's Quickest- Motive Garage

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this episode of Motive Garage we head to Powertune Australia to install a GR Yaris MoTeC plug and play kit before we head to Wakefield to get our lap record back and then to the drag strip to try and become the quickest GR Yaris down the quarter mile in the world (verified with time slip that is).

    G'day mate, just saw a grey Yaris post a 1.04.81 at Wakefield over the last few hours. I recall there was traffic and some more set up to go on your last few pb sessions. It's always the way at Wakefield, you get heaps of traffic on the laps that you are honking along and everything is coming together. Great video btw.

    Sweet. You guys just saved me a grip! Dropping US$50k on a Yaris GR RZ High Performance when things open back up in a few days (New Years). I wanted the back up camera and corner sonar, but it's all rolled up into the "Safety Sense" option with lane departure, pre-crash, radar cruise, etc... Eliminating that package drops the price half the cost of the M141 package.

    This is freaking awesome! I owned a little Yaris up until a month ago (got hit and totalled :( ) and always wanted a GR Yaris but cannot get them in the US. So I picked myself up a GR Corolla and I cannot WAIT for Motec support for the GR Corolla; same engine so I would hope support for it would come (relatively) quick!

    Top of rev range you have drop in power. Same was told by ur race driver. MB adding BIG air intake box will help to unlimit air intake, increase power, have better lap and 1/4 mile times. "Eventuri" have some solutions ready on Yaris GR.

  • @NoToVeto

    @NoToVeto

    You have drop in power 900 RPM earlier, than drop starts on stock engine. If you have enough fuel flow, then either not enough air flows to engine or exaust is too restricted. Put that stock air box out and bring some proper air intake solution. Still good job so far! Keep it up and share more!

    @@DamonDupriez on the road the Golf R system works really well though. Not sure why you’d want to disable it other than if you’re tracking the car? I used to have a MK7.5R and the system was a split second faster than me in reacting to some idiot 2 cars ahead deciding to slam their brakes on to take a sudden right turn. I’ve had it beep and flash “brake” at me a bunch of other times, but it was smart enough not to kick in. Compared to a lot of other brand cars and systems I’ve heard about, including Audi’s, Mazda’s, etc the system in the Golf is pretty good.

    Funny about the safety systems, I have everything turned off. It still will hit the brakes if I make a late decision to go around somebody, it's annoying but oh well. What's good not that I plan to sell it but it has all the safety systems available for the novice they will want it.
