Our next guest needs very little introduction. He is arguably one of the most recognisable voices and faces in South Africa's media industry. It all started when as a young boy living in KwaZulu-Natal, Robert Marawa listened to the commentary of local football derbies on a Small FM radio and would go on to imitate the commentary, reading from newspaper clippings. Fast forward a couple of years later - Robert Marawa is an undisputed household name when it comes to sportscasting. He has released his memoir, Gqimm Shelele, The Robert Marawa Story.

Nostalgic moment-the handover at 7 pm between Ma-Always and Mr Gqim Shelele on MetroFM. You have to appreciate how Ma-Always effortlessly transition from interviewing someone who asks her 'who do you think you are talking to' a couple of days ago to the world of sports. She knows her sports, alright-a passionate Khosi and Gunner. A suggestion: Ma-Always anchors Robert's radio show to go deeper and examine all the themes in the book. Appreciate his openness about surviving two heart attacks and how he used his lived experience to educate us about the dangers of cardiovascular diseases. Mkhatshwa. I couldn't have said it any better....I remember the line up at Metro FM, but the handovers from Rob to Sakina at 19:30 remain defining radio moments for me.
