GQ GMC-320+ Plus Geiger Counter TEST
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Here I test the GMC 320+ Geiger Counter with a radioactive test card. We do a basic functional test using United Nuclear's Geiger Test Card. Levels over 50 CPM are of concern. Normal levels are 10-25 on average. Links below.

United Nuclear Test Card (appx 800-1000 CPM) amzn.to/3MeedVg
Uranium Ore 3000-5000 CPM amzn.to/3NPpcpo

For EMF & RF radiation- you need the GQ EMF-390 meter amzn.to/3DJP4Rj

I love this counter so much. Love to take it everywhere to play with.
My 320 just showed up today. Thank you for the video.

Your welcome. Have fun!
Just saw this was Goshen Prepping Channels Got Too reader. Great demonstration.
There's a firmware update available for these that allows it to go beyond 65k CPM, and adds fast estimate reading. You just have to email support to get the update and list the model and serial number in the email.

@@TheRealWorld737 if you do plan on updating go through your settings (including the calibration settings) and record them (into a text file or notepad). That way if you have changed anything in the settings you can put them back after the update, that is if you don't know them by heart.

@@TheRealWorld737 when I got mine about a week ago it was at revision 4.70, this update put it to 4.74
🎉thanks
I just want to help you and everyone else, you see where is says USA at the bottom? it also says peel right there, it is hard to get off but the bubbles will be gone, took me a while to see
Its not sensitive to UV light and that has nothing to do with it. 25-30 is actually normal outdoor count and the background levels are naturally higher outside most cases unless you live in a granite building or something made of materials that concentrate radiation.
I wonder what the max Severts it can read many max out at the the 1 and will not be accurate for higher or lower readings.
The Soeks Quantum reads 1.2 kcpm with one of these cards. The Quantum has two sensors, one is more sensitive than the other.
Did you get the feeling this is a sturdy unit? Could it be dropped? Could you take it hiking a feel that it wasnt in danger of being broken?

I think it’s as sturdy as any. I’d take it anywhere. I take good care of my stuff tho..
I see that the 320s is cheaper than the plus. Do you know if they are the same? Price point difference 50% cheaper than the +

Looks like Wi-Fi is the difference maybe?

@@TheRealWorld737 there's the 320+ V4 that lacks wifi and the 320+ V5 that has wifi, but even then the 320+ V4 is still more expensive than the 320s. The only thing I can think of why the cheaper price is probably due to cost of manufacturing, the 320s is probably a cost reduced version (due to cheaper manufacturing) on why the price is cheaper than the 320+ V4 even tho its essentially the same. There's a firmware update for the 320+ V4 (probably available for the 300e and 320+ V5) that puts it's capabilities in line with the 300s and 320s (higher CPM, and fast estimate reading).
Got one of these and tested with a United Nuclear Geiger Counter Test Card. Shows about 585 CPM, 3.73 uSv/h, 0.406 mR/h Is this normal expected readings for the United Nuclear Test Card?

I spoke to United Nuclear and also chatted on the forums with folks about the readings with the test cards. They all concur there is a significant amount of variance of what each unit and card will produce. I would expect the cards especially are not as consistent. A lot of factors go into making the test cards. Having said that- positioning of the unit over the test card will show the most in variation. Ultimately- I’d be satisfied using this lower end Geiger counter and weak-ish test card to get a reading from 500-1000. As you can see in the video- it took a long time to get about 750. It also was extremely sensitive to positioning. United Nuclear (as noted in my comments) expects 800-1000. I think ultimately- for its purposes- the 320+ is going to accomplish your goal of knowing whether radiation exists and if you should stick around or bail …. Thanks for the comments ;-)

Get yourself a selfie stick and you can read stuff on the ground a little easier. Try not to cover the tube though. I gave mine a little help with some zip ties.

Isn’t that little card dangerous to have in your house?
@TheRealWorld737
Жыл бұрын
No. Such low levels. I keep it in a room that is not frequented at all and not close to a sleeping area. You wouldn’t want to place it next to your bed or carry it around in your pocket. Is baffles me how some people are so selective on some potential hazards - but are immediately so willing to inject something directly into their bodies that is largely unknown. The card won’t even register on the counter in another room.

@@TheRealWorld737 heck it probably won't be much over background (if at all) being a foot away from the test card. A lot of people instantly go into fear mode as soon as they hear the word radiation.
DUMB QUESTION OF THE DAY... Would their be a problem if one were to wear the test card taped to his forehead for 24 hours? I mean, there must some intrinsic danger to this card. Actually, with all that is going on in our world today ie. Russia/Ukraine and whoever else is involved, I have become interested in acquiring a Geiger counter. I was thankful to find that a large, heavy, yellow box was no longer my only option. Thanks for the info. Maranatha

Sorry. Even though those cards are very very low in radiation - it's my personal opinion that one should try to limit any exposure to things that are bad for you - especially when you have a choice. I am guessing you were kidding about taping it? Sometimes I'm a little slow.. LOL. I don't keep this little test card anywhere near places I, or any of my family spend any more than a few minutes at. I do think you are spot-on about wanting to get a geiger counter - as I was - for the very reasons you mentioned. I mean, just "what if" - something happens - even if it's not published, announced or whatever - but YOU have to means to measure radiation and can take appropriate precautions. I think that all of these measures that I've done on my channel to gain an advantage are critical. This isn't a hobby for me. I just like sharing what I think is reasonably advantageous and doesn't always cost a ton of money. We should prepare for the unexpected (EMP, radiation, collapse..). One of my favorite sayings I coined is, "I won't be the first to be eaten by zombies!". It's funny - but has more than just the literal meaning - as I am sure you know. Best of health to you.

@@TheRealWorld737 Yes. The card on the forehead was an attempt at humor but I am very serious about the declining state of the world, economically, politically, monetarily, morally and spiritually. This place has become a Godless, lawless mess. And now that Putin seems to have his panties in a wad, I guess we can add another threat to the list. Question: Would paying a bit extra for the twin tube GMC, model 500 be worth the extra cost? It seems to run through the numbers a bit faster than the 320. Thanks again.

I too, am dissappointed at where the world is today. We know what the Word says will be the final chapter and how it ends... It's why I have explored many of these things that a lot of people in the mainstream around me don't give a second thought (they are too worried about being first in line at Starbucks I guess). To answer your question, now that I've used the 320+ a bit - at only about $50-60 more, I'd go with the 500 twin tube model gieger counter. I did notice that on low level stuff the 320+ was finicky on placement. And the 500 detects alpha. It's got a larger screen like my GQ EMF-390 EMF/RF radiation detector ( amzn.to/3DJP4Rj ) - which is a lot easier to see, has more information on the screen at one time also. Being more sensitive with the two tubes - it's not going to be as slow; and will show you bigger numbers (probably scary numbers if the SHTF)... So, my next gieger counter will be the 500. I need to do a video on the EMF detector. It's very useful because there's a lot more EMF out there to play with vs. what you find with the gieger.
