GPG Outbrief webinar on the evaluation of an AWT system that monitors and provides partial-water softening for cooling tower water management. The supplemental system determines the optimal amount of blowdown required to satisfy all water chemistry targets. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) assessed the system in three cooling towers at the Lloyd D. George Courthouse in Las Vegas, Nevada. Researchers found that the system reduced blowdown by 52% and overall cooling tower water use by 15%.
