Gow 2 is best definitly😍⚡️🌪️

I recently went through the entire franchise on my emulator, considering I was super young when I played 1 and 2, I missed a lot of details and noticed a lot of things with the GOW 1 that GOW 2 fixed. GOW 1: when I first replayed it, it kicks off super epic considering you’re on the ship with the Hydra. Being that it’s the first in the series, this is a great example of how to start off a game. During my play through, I noticed a lot of cool things and some quite annoying things. I noticed right off the back, the enemies are actually harder (or the weapon DPS is different) the Minotaur's could arguably be mini bosses considering how much HP they have. Cyclopes were definitely harder in the first game than any other GOW. Magic orbs are much harder to come by but that being said, some of the magic abilities are extremely powerful, Satan’s soul ability is arguably one of the most powerful magic ability Kratos gets. The upgrading system is kind of weird, I can’t tell if it takes 10X more orbs to upgrade or it going up and down with the symbol during your upgrading process. A fun fact i definitely did not remember or know when I was young playing it that almost 80% of the entire game is on Cronus’s back. All the challenges and puzzles were also on his back, not a complaint - Just one thing I didn’t notice. They were definitely a lack of bosses in the first one, I can’t remember but I think we got 3 or 4? You got the Hydra in the beginning, technically the Medusa fight is a boss battle since she has more HP than the other Gorgons (even though she’s the same by design and abilities) you have the Armored Minotaur that you fight down in the caves, and then lastly you have the epic fight with Ares. I don’t remember only having 2 weapons but I guess that’s it. You got the first set of Blades (of chaos I think) and you got the blade of Artemis (actually a very powerful blade when upgraded). All and all, for it’s time, GOW 1 did an outstanding job for the time and technology. The ending was set up to where they weren’t planning on making anymore but we’re ALL glad they did. GOW2: this to me is the most Important GOW as it sets the tone and the story very well. You start off with all your power and abilities along with actually being a God… for the first 30 minutes. The graphics improved DRASTICALLY in the short amount of time. Field of view and resolution were greatly improved. They added many more bosses in each area and way more weapons and equipment throughout the game. The bosses were awesome and greatly designed. They all had a back story (except the Kraken which kind of just shows up). There isn’t much to say about this game cause it was a major improvement… literally everything got better. You get 4 weapons and 4 magic abilities. You get the ability to jump up ladders and jump while climbing which makes navigating way easier as opposed to GOW1’s climbing. The Rage of the Titans did way more damage and was really cool considering you could activate right before a cutscene and in some cutscenes Kratos would still be burning. (I think the Rage ability was way more prevalent in the first one just because of how much harder the enemies were). Truly there isn’t much else to say, GOW2 hit the every category and improved drastically. GOW3: I don’t have enough time to talk to about this one but it being the game that is it, most people will understand what I missed out on. It picks up right after GOW2, climbing MT Olympus with the 6 remaining free Titans might be the coolest fucking thing I’ve ever seen. One of my most favorite things about this game is your rage is the Blade of Olympus. Everyone loved wielding that thing in the 2nd game. The graphics might be the best I’ve ever seen on a PS3 format. Nothing looks choppy or pixelated. The boss battles are absolutely brutal and epic. All of the bosses with the except of the giant scorpion down in the labyrinth is one of your fellow Gods. The weapons and magic abilities are insane. Hades’s hooks are pretty cool with the abilities and combos they offer. The Nemesis blades are OP if you’re that player that recognized that they charge up your rage meter…. The fights are very cinematic from the shots of you on Gaia’s back to watching fights out in the distance. It’s really cool that Every-time you kill a God, it affects Olympus in some way. You destroy Olympus little by little throughout the game. A detail I kind of hated was how quick all the Titans were killed off 😂. I mean, Poseidon is one of the most power Gods but if you count, he manages to kill 3 of them by himself. Hades, you’ll notice pulls one down himself as well. Leaving Gaia and Perses (the lava one) which you end up killing Perses anyways and eventually Gaia in the end. GOW3 was by far the most epic game and I think it set the tone really high once the new series starting coming out. (Although he can still be that Ghost, you just have to endanger Atreus) If you haven't gotten to play Chains of Olympus or Ghost of Sparta, you should absolutely do so. Those games fill in some holes and cracks you might have with the main story line. A lot of people didn't know Kratos had a brother (Deimos). Also, play Ascension if you haven't already. Ascension is the last game made with the original cast and crew. The graphics are CRAZY being it was one of the last set of PS3 games to come out before the PS4 dropped. A lot of people didn't like Ascension cause the story was "Dull" but the game explains a lot of what Kratos went through right before he was set to destroy Ares. It shows us about the Furies and what they did to him during the reign of Ares and also shows/tells us some things the other games don't mention. Of course this is my opinion but I felt the need to share all of this cause I just recently blew through all the original games. Sorry if I bore y’all lmao

The first god of war is the peak of level design for me personally, more than god of war 2. The cronus temple feels so dangeorus than the rest of the series.

@@tituikabussaa for sure, the game is overall harder to play and there isn’t too many different types of enemies but they’re pretty challenging on their own. I use the Minotaur for example. You can bust through 5 of them in GOW2 in a minute where they feel like small boss fights everytime they appear.

For me the ranking would be: GoW2 GoW1 GoW3

Because it has everything from solid to fantastic nothing bad. GoW3 for example has the weakest plot and writing while the other 2 had a solid storyline. While GoW1 had awful l platforming. GoW2 has the correct mix of everything
