Government Travel Credit Card (GTCC) during a permanent change of station (PCS)
My thoughts on the Navy moving to the GTCC during a PCS.

We’re pcs to hawaii in the army. How do we get our card? The hotels In hawaii are thousands of dollars and out housing isn’t ready yet we’re on a list.

Great question. Applying for the card will not and having the card doesn't add to your available credit. But if you use the card and don't pay it on time they will report that to the credit agencies. Long answer short, It shouldn't impact your score if you use it and pay it responsibly.

Yes once you get your travel claim. It should cover all of your expenses but if you spend more than you’re entitled too you will owe the difference.

@@SouthernDeaux I'm confused. I thought the gtcc is used to pay off my travel expenses. If that's the case, why do I have to pay it back? Why not just use my money directly to pay off my travel expenses? I'm only using it because my orders say I have to use it. Also I'm currently TDY(in school) for a month and a half. My gtcc just got declined. It said that I exceeded my credit limit even though I was told in my last command to use it while I'm TDY. Now I can't use it. I'm confused. Please help me, anybody.

@@haywardbennett3866 yes your required to use it now and I believe you must file a travel claim every 30 days. They’ll send you a payment and you must use that money to pay off the card. It’s a terrible idea in my opinion. You shouldn’t have a limit or you may need to speak with your cppa (or service equivalent) at your command to have your limit increased while on extended tdy. But yes you have to pay off the GTCC.
